Description: XIRP1 is a member of the Xin family of proteins, containing 16 Xin repeats. The intercalated disk protein Xin protects actin filaments from depolymerization, and is able to bundle actin filaments to interact with β-catenin, which is thought to stabilize actin-based cytoskeletons. The evolutionary emergence of the Xin paralogs may have played a key role in the development of heart chambers with complete endothelial and myocardial layers. Loss of mXinα (mouse Xin homolog) results in cardiac hypertrophy and cardiomyopathy. Phosphorylation of Ser295 is thought to play a key role in XIRP signaling. Xin Actin-Binding Repeat Containing Protein 1 pS295 Antibody is ideal for researchers interested in cell cycle research.

Description: Breast cancer anti-estrogen resistance 3 (BCAR3) was identified in the search for genes involved in the development of estrogen resistance. It contains a putative src homology 2 (SH2) domain and is partly homologous to the cell division cycle protein CDC48. BCAR3 is a binding partner with Cas, an adapter molecule that plays a role in cell proliferation, survival, cell adhesion, and mobility. BCAR3 functions synergistically with Cas to enhance Src activation and promote cell migration, and has been suggested to regulate Cas/Src association, Src kinase activity, and breast cancer adhesion signaling.

Description: Produced through a multi-stage process that includes delipidation, salt fractionation, ion-exchange chromatography, gel filtration, and affinity chromatography. No contaminating proteins are observed when assayed at a protein concentration of 20mg/mL against anti-whole serum or anti-fragment specific antisera. All immunoglobulin fragments are prepared from highly purified, whole molecules subject to enzymatic digestion.

Description: NALP2 belongs to a family of cytoplasmic proteins that have been implicated in cell responses to apoptotic and inflammatory stimuli. Unlike the prototypical NALP protein NALP1, NALP2 only contains a NACHT domain, leucine rich repeat (LRR), and pyrin-containing domain (PYD). This protein interacts with the adapter protein ASC in addition to CARD8 and caspase-1 to form an inflammasome with high proIL-1b-processing activity and is thought to function as a modulator of NF-kB and procaspase-1 activation in macrophages. It has also been suggested that NALP2, in addition to other NALP family members, can act as innate sensors of pathogens in a manner similar to the toll-like receptors (TLRs). At least two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for NALP2.

Description: Accurate chromosome segregation during mitosis requires a kinetochore to assemble correctly at the centromere of each chromatid and form a dynamic interface with the microtubules of the mitotic spindle. The kinetochore assembly includes the multisubunit CENP-H/I complex which can be divided into three functional classes based on phenotype analysis. One of these classes is referred to as the CENP-O class of proteins of which CENPO is the exemplar. These proteins form a stable complex with each other and are required for proper kinetochore function and for recovery from mitotic spindle damage. CENPO has also been shown to be an auto-antigen in a small population of anti-centromere antibodies- (ACA-) positive patients with sclerodoma.

Description: The Leucine-rich repeat transmembrane neuronal proteins (LRRTMs) are differentially expressed in the nervous system and were recently found to instruct presynaptic and mediate postsynaptic glutamatergic differentiation, with LRRTM1 and LRRTM2 most potent at inducing presynaptic differentiation. Each LRRTM protein is a type I transmembrane containing ten extracellular leucine-rich repeats and a short intracellular tail and has a developmentally regulated pattern distinct from all others. LRRTM2 interacts with PSD-95 and regulates the surface expression of AMPA receptors. LRRTM2 also functions as a neurexin ligand, binding both Neurexin 1-alpha and -beta, suggesting that LRRTM2-Neurexin1 interaction plays a critical role in regulatory excitatory synapse development.

Description: Lin28 is a transcription factor that was first identified through its key role in the pathway of developmental timing in C. elegans. The role of Lin28 in development suggested that it might be useful in the creation of stem cells that might be beneficial in cell replacement therapies in the treatment of several degenerative diseases. Artificial stem cells, termed induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, can be created by expressing Lin28 in addition to the transcription factors POU5F1, Sox2, and NANOG in mouse fibroblasts. More recently, experiments have demonstrated that iPS cells could be generated using expression plasmids expressing Lin28, Sox2, POU5F1 and c-Myc, eliminating the need for virus introduction, thereby addressing a safety concern for potential use of iPS cells in regenerative medicine.

Description: A novel cytokine related to IL-2 and IL-15 was recently identified and designated IL-21. The receptor for IL-21 (IL-21R, also termed NILR for novel Interleukin receptor) is a new member of the class I cytokine receptor family. IL-21R forms a complex with the common cytokine receptor gamma chain, gammac, and mediates IL-21 signaling. Both IL-21R and the gammac are necessary for the IL-21 function. IL-21 and its receptor activate JAK-STAT signaling pathway. IL-21R is expressed in spleen, thymus, natural killer (NK), T and B cell lines. IL-21 plays a role in the proliferation and maturation of NK, B and T cell populations.
