Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: The Lim domain and actin-binding protein 1 (LIMA1) is cytoskeleton-associated protein that inhibits actin filament depolymerization and cross-links filaments in bundles and is downregulated in some cancer cell lines (1,2). LIMA1 is also a key molecule linking the cadherin-catenin complex to the actin cytoskeleton (3). Recent studies have shown that EGF activates ERK1/2-dependent phosphorylation, ubiquitination and degradation of LIMA1, leading to increased invasiveness and metastasis of metastatic prostate cancer models (4).

Catalog Number: (75932-142)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: Spectrin, the predominant component of the membrane skeleton of the red cell, is essential in determining the properties of the membrane including its shape and deformability. It consists of 2 nonidentical subunits, alpha and beta. Spectrin is present in the red cell membrane in a tetrameric or possibly higher polymeric form through head-to-head self-association of heterodimers that are linked by actin polymers and protein 4.1 to form a 2-dimensional network. Non-erythroid spectrin gene is mapped to human chromosome 2. Spectrin mutations cause spinocerebellar ataxia type 5. This antibody is suitable for researchers interested in cytoskeleton and transcriptoion factor research.

Catalog Number: (75931-618)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: RIG-1 antibody detects the human RIG-1 protein. The innate immune system detects viral infection by recognizing various viral components and triggers antiviral responses. Like the toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3), the cytoplasmic helicase retinoic acid inducible gene protein 1 (RIG-1) recognizes double-stranded (ds) RNA, a molecular pattern associated with viral infection. Unlike TLR3 however, RIG-1 activates the kinases TBK1 and IKKε through the adaptor protein IPS-1. These kinases then phosphorylate the transcription factors IRF-3 and IRF-7 which are essential for the expression of type-I interferons. RIG-1 is required for the production of interferons in response to RNA viruses including paramyxoviruses, influenza virus, and Japanese encephalitis virus. Anti-RIG-1 antibodies are ideal for investigators involved in infectious disease research.

Catalog Number: (75929-638)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: The lysosomal integral membrane protein 2 (LIMP2) is a heavily glycosylated type III transmembrane protein, the majority of which exists in the lumen of the lysosome and a cytoplasmic domain of approximately 20 amino acids. A deficiency of LIMP2 in mice causes uretic pelvic junction obstruction, deafness, and peripheral neuropathy associated with impaired vesicular trafficking and distribution of apically expressed proteins. More recently, LIMP2 was shown to act as a receptor to bind beta-glucocerebrosidase, the enzyme defective in Gaucher disease, a lysosomal storage disorder. LIMP2-deficient mice showed missorted as well as secreted beta-glucocerebrosidase, suggesting that LIMP2 also functions as the mannose-6-phosphate-independent trafficking receptor.

Catalog Number: (75934-108)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: POFUT1, an endoplasmic reticulum-residing member of the glycosyltransferase O-Fuc family, adds O-fucose through an O-glycosidic linkage to conserved serine or threonines in epidermal growth factor-like repeats of several cell surface and secreted proteins. Unlike its homolog POFUT2, POFUT1 can also catalyze the transfer of fucose to thrombospondin type 1 repeats. Many of the substrates of POFUT1 are involved in ligand-induced receptor signaling. One such protein is Notch; mouse ES cells lacking POFUT have normal levels of Notch receptors at the cell surface, but these receptors do not bind Notch ligands or exhibit Notch signaling.

Description: The Epilepsy, progressive myoclonus type 2A protein (EPM2A) is a dual-specificity phosphatase that associates with polyribosomes. Mutations in this gene have been associated with myoclonic epilepsy of Lafora. EPM2A interacts with a number of proteins known to be involved in glycogen metabolism and has been shown to have robust phosphatase activity against a phosphorylated complex carbohydrate, suggesting that EPM2A may be involved in the regulation of glycogen metabolism.
