Description: TAF10 (TATA-Box Binding Protein Associated Factor 10) is the protein that coordinates activities for the initiation of transcription by RNA polymerase II required for activities of more than 70 polypeptides. TFIID binds to the core promoter to position the polymerase properly, serves as the scaffold for assembly of the remainder of the transcription complex, and acts as a channel for regulatory signals. TFIID is composed of the TATA-binding protein (TBP) and a group of evolutionarily conserved proteins known as TBP-associated factors or TAFs. TAFs may participate in basal transcription, serve as co-activators, function in promoter recognition or modify general transcription factors (GTFs) to facilitate complex assembly and transcription initiation. This gene encodes one of the small subunits of TFIID that is associated with a subset of TFIID complexes. Studies with human and mammalian cells have shown that this subunit is required for transcriptional activation by the estrogen receptor, for progression through the cell cycle, and may also be required for certain cellular differentiation programs. Anti-TAF10 Antibody is useful for researchers interested in Chromatin research, transcription factor activity research, and DNA binding and transcription co-activator activity research.

Description: Anti-PKM2 Antibody was designed, produced, and validated as part of the Joy Cappel Young Investigator Award (JCYIA). Pyruvate kinase has been shown to be expressed in tumor, embryonic and normal proliferating cells in varying levels. Studies show that when PKM2 is secreted it can induce EGFR phosphorylation which stimulates the EGFR downstream pathway. Previously PKM has been shown to be critical for aerobic glycolysis. Four isoforms of PKM play alternative roles within the system and post-translational modifications along these isoforms induce multiple pathways making this Anti-PKM2 antibody ideal for investigators involved in cancer research and post-translational modifications.

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: CD44 was designed, produced, and validated as part of the Joy Cappel Young Investigator Award (JCYIA). CD44 is a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA), an integral component of the extracellular matrix. CD44 mediates cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions through its affinity for HA, and can also interact with ligands such as osteopontin, collagens, and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). The multiple protein isoforms are encoded by a single gene by alternative splicing and are further modified by a range of post-translational modifications. CD44 function is controlled by these posttranslational modifications. The major physiological role of CD44 is to maintain organ and tissue structure via cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion, but certain variant isoforms can also mediate lymphocyte activation and homing, and the presentation of chemical factors and hormones. CD44 participates in a wide variety of cellular functions including lymphocyte activation, recirculation and homing, hematopoiesis, and tumor metastasis. CD44 is a multi-structural and multi-functional cell surface molecule involved in cell proliferation, cell differentiation, cell migration, angiogenesis, presentation of cytokines, chemokines, and growth factors to the corresponding receptors, and docking of proteases at the cell membrane, as well as in signaling for cell survival. All these biological properties are essential to the physiological activities of normal cells, but they are also associated with the pathologic activities of cancer cells. CD44, particularly its variants, may be useful as a diagnostic or prognostic marker of malignancy and, in at least some human cancers, it may be a potential target for cancer therapy.

Description: RIPK1 (Receptor Interacting Protein) is a crucial 74 kD adaptor kinase in several of stress-induced signaling pathways and on the crossroad of a cell's decision to live or die. RIPK1 contains an N-terminal region with homology to protein kinases, an intermediate domain capable of association with MAPKKK and a C-terminal region containing a death domain motif present in the Fas and TNFR1 intracellular domains. Full length RIPK1 is important for signallling to NFk-B, MAPKs and necrosis, whereas caspase-8 generates a C-terminal RIPK1 cleavage fragment, promoting TNF-induced apoptosis. It is required for TNFRSF1A-mediated and TLR3-induced NF-kB activation. RIPK1-deficient mice fail to thrive, displaying extensive apoptosis in both lymphoid and adipose tissues and dying at 1-3 days of age.

Description: KDM4A or lysine (K)-specific demethylase 4A is a member of the Jumonji domain 2 (JMJD2) family that encodes a protein containing a JmjN domain, a JmjC domain, a JD2H domain, two TUDOR domains, and two PHD-type zinc fingers. KDM4A functions in euchromatin to remove histone methylation marks that are associated with active transcription (1). KDM4A also act as a trimethylation-specific demethylase those converting specific trimethylated histone residues to the dimethylated form, and as a transcriptional repressor (2). KDM4A Protein is ideal for investigators involved in Cancer, Cell Cycle, and Inflammation research.

Description: The p21-activated kinases (PAKs) are serine-threonine kinases that bind to the active forms of Cdc42 and Rac. They are divided into two groups, the first of which include PAK1, 2 and 3, and can be activated by Cdc42/Rac binding. Group 1 PAKs contain an autoinhibitory domain whose activity is regulated by Cdc42/Rac binding. The group 1 PAKs are known to be involved in cellular processes such as gene transcription, apoptosis, and cell morphology and motility. Much less is known about the second group, which includes PAK4, 5 and 6. These proteins are not activated by Cdc42/Rac binding. PAK6 was initially identified as an androgen receptor in a yeast two hybrid screen and was found to be highly expressed in testis and prostate tissues. Later experiments have shown it to be activated by MAP kinase kinase 6 and p38 MAP kinase, suggesting that PAK6 may play a role in the cellular response to stress-related signals.

Description: MEK2 antibodies detect the MEK2 isoform. Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 2, also known as MEK2 or MKK2, is an integral component of the MAP kinase cascade that regulates cell growth and differentiation. This pathway also plays a key role in synaptic plasticity in the brain. Activated MEK 2 acts as a dual specificity kinase phosphorylating both a threonine and a tyrosine residue on MAP kinase. MEK1 and MEK2 are about 80% identical to each other, and nearly identical within the kinase domain. The MEK2 antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Neuroscience, Cell Signaling and Cancer Research.

Description: ERK1 antibodies detect the ERK1 isoform. Mitogen activiated protein kinase 3, also known as MAPK3, ERK, or ERK1, is an integral component of the MAP kinase cascade that regulates cell growth and differentiation. ERK1 and ERK2 are activated by MEK1 and MEK2 in the B-raf signaling pathway resulting in its translocation to the nucleus where it phosphorylates nuclear targets. Human ERK1 and ERK2 are 84% identical in sequence and share common functionality in cells. Anti-ERK1 antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Neuroscience, Cell Signaling and Cancer Research.

Description: Chromatin condensation and nuclear fragmentation (CCNF) is the hallmark of apoptosis. CCNF is triggered by the activation of members of caspase family, caspase activated DNase (CAD/DFF40), and several novel proteins including AIF and CIDE. A new inducer of chromatin condensation was recently identified and designated Acinus (for apoptotic chromatin condensation inducer in the nucleus). Acinus is cleaved by caspase-3 and an additional unknown protease generating a small active peptide p17, which causes chromatin condensation in vitro when it is added to purified nuclei. Acinus also induces apoptotic chromatin condensation in cells. Acinus is ubiquitously expressed. Three different spliced forms of Acinus have been identified in human and mouse and designated AcinusL, AcinusS and AcinusS'.
