Description: CCL4 Antibody: CCL4, also known as macrophage inflammatory protein 1-beta (MIP1B), belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family. Both CCL4 and the related protein CCL3 participate in the host response to invading bacterial, viral, parasite and fungal pathogens by regulating the trafficking and activation state of selected subgroups of inflammatory cells. While both CCL4 and CCL3 exert similar effects on monocytes, their effect on lymphocytes differ; with CCL4 selectively attracting CD4+ lymphocytes and CCL3 selectively attracting CD8+ lymphocytes. Additionally, both have been shown to be potent chemoattractants for B cells, eosinophils and dendritic cells. The processed form of CCL4 can induce down-modulation of surface expression of the chemokine receptor CCR5, thus inhibiting the CCR5-mediated entry of HIV-1 in T cells.

Description: MARVELD1 Antibody: MARVELD1, (MARVEL domain-containing 1), is one of the MARVEL (MAL and related proteins for vesicle trafficking and membrane link) domain-containing proteins. It is a nuclear-localized protein that is widely expressed in normal human tissues. While it has been reported to be overexpressed in colon cancer, MARVELD1 protein levels are generally lower in several primary tumors including ovary, breast, kidney, bladder and liver. This lower level of MARVELD1 expression in tumors is thought to be due to a higher methylation status of the MARVELD1 promoter as treatment of MDA-MB-361 with 5-aza-2'-deoxycytidine restores MARVELD1 expression, suggesting that loss of MARVELD1 expression may contribute to tumorgenicity.

Description: CPE is a carboxypeptidase that cleaves C-terminal amino acid residues and is involved in the biosynthesis of peptide hormones and neurotransmitters, including insulin. It is a peripheral membrane protein. The protein specifically binds regulated secretory pathway proteins, including prohormones, but not constitutively secreted proteinsThis gene encodes a carboxypeptidase that cleaves C-terminal amino acid residues and is involved in the biosynthesis of peptide hormones and neurotransmitters, including insulin. It is a peripheral membrane protein. The protein specifically binds regulated secretory pathway proteins, including prohormones, but not constitutively secreted proteins. Mutations in this gene are implicated in type II diabetes. Publication Note: This RefSeq record includes a subset of the publications that are available for this gene. Description: CCDC22 Antibody: CCDC22 is a recently identified coiled-coil domain-containing protein that has been shown to bind copines, which are calcium-dependent, membrane-binding proteins that may function in calcium signaling. In rat, CCDC22 has been observed to localize in multiple regions of the brain, including the prefrontal and somatosensory cortex, dentate gyrus and thalamus, and in the ipsilateral motor neurons of the spinal cord after sciatic nerve transection suggesting that it may play a role in neuronal injury response. The human CCDC22 gene has been identified as a novel candidate gene for syndromic X-linked intellectual disability (XLID).

Description: CD274, also known as B7-H1 or programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1), is a 40 kD type I transmembrane protein and a member of the B7 family within the immunoglobulin receptor superfamily. Programmed death-1 ligand-1 (PD-L1, CD274, B7-H1) has been identified as the ligand for the immunoinhibitory receptor programmed death-1(PD1/PDCD1) and has been demonstrated to play a role in the regulation of immune responses and peripheral tolerance. By binding to PD1 on activated T-cells and B-cells, PD-L1 may inhibit ongoing T-cell responses by inducing apoptosis and arresting cell-cycle progression. Accordingly, it leads to growth of immunogenic tumor growth by increasing apoptosis of antigen specific T cells and may contribute to immune evasion by cancers. PD-L1 thus is regarded as promising therapeutic target for human autoimmune disease and malignant cancers.
