Description: Cytokeratin 14 (CK14) belongs to the type I (or A or acidic) subfamily of low molecular weight keratins and exists in combination with keratin 5 (type II or B or basic). Cytokeratin 14 is found in basal cells of squamous epithelia, some glandular epithelia, myoepithelium, and mesothelial cells. antibody to cytokeratin 14 is useful in differentiating squamous cell carcinomas from poorly differentiated epithelial tumors. cytokeratin 14 antibody is one of the specific basal markers for distinguishing between basal and non-basal subtypes of breast carcinomas. Cytokeratin 14 antibody is also a good marker for differentiation of intraductal from invasive salivary duct carcinoma by the positive staining of basal cells surrounding the in-situ neoplasm as well as for differentiation of benign prostate from prostate carcinoma. Furthermore, this antibody has been useful in separating oncocytic tumors of the kidney from its renal mimics, and in identifying metaplastic carcinomas of the breast.

Description: Arginase catalyzes the hydrolysis of arginine to ornithine and urea. The type I isoform of ARG1, is a cytosolic enzyme and expressed predominantly in the liver as a component of the urea cycle. Inherited deficiency of this enzyme results in argininemia, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by hyperammonemia.Arginase catalyzes the hydrolysis of arginine to ornithine and urea. At least two isoforms of mammalian arginase exist (types I and II) which differ in their tissue distribution, subcellular localization, immunologic crossreactivity and physiologic function. Description: Mediates the hydrolysis of some nucleoside diphosphate derivatives. Can degrade 8-oxo-dGTP in vitro, suggesting that it may remove an oxidatively damaged form of guanine (7,8-dihydro-8-oxoguanine) from DNA and the nucleotide pool, thereby preventing misincorporation of 8-oxo-dGTP into DNA thus preventing A:T to C:G transversions. Its substrate specificity in vivo however remains unclear (By similarity). May have a role in DNA synthesis and cell cycle progression throught the interaction with PCNA.

Description: The GL-1 monoclonal antibody reacts specifically with the mouse B7-2 (also known as CD86), a costimulatory molecule expressed by B and T lymphocytes, macrophages (thioglycollate-induced from peritoneum), astrocytes and dendritic cells. The memory CD4+ T lymphocytes express CD86 (as mRNA and protein). CD86, and the B7-1 (CD 80) molecule, are ligands for CD152 and CD28, and influence the costimulatory interactions between lymphocytes B and T. B7-2 is also involved in the mouse natural killer cell-mediated cytotoxicity. The GL-1 antibody blocks the mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR) and inhibits the T-cells stimulation by antigen-presenting cells. Mixtures of anti-B7-1 antibody and GL-1 were reported to inhibit the interaction between CD125 and its ligand with the in vivo priming of cytotoxic T lymphocytes.

Description: Coiled-coil domain containing 90B (CCDC90B) protein has seven predicted alpha helices, a characteristic of coiled-coil proteins. CCDC90B is characterized by the presence of a domain of unknown function, DUF1640. This domain is a characteristic of the entire protein with the exception of the first twenty-three amino acid residues, which are a mitochondrial targeting site and cleaved. This entry describes 2 isoforms produced by alternative splicing.

Description: P2RY12 belongs to the family of G-protein coupled receptors. This family has several receptor subtypes with different pharmacological selectivity, which overlaps in some cases, for various adenosine and uridine nucleotides. This receptor is involved in platelets aggregation, and is a potential target for the treatment of thromboembolisms and other clotting disorders. The product of this gene belongs to the family of G-protein coupled receptors. This family has several receptor subtypes with different pharmacological selectivity, which overlaps in some cases, for various adenosine and uridine nucleotides. Description: ATE1 is an arginyltransferase, an enzyme that is involved in posttranslational conjugation of arginine to N-terminal aspartate or glutamate residues. Conjugation of arginine to the N-terminal aspartate or glutamate targets proteins for ubiquitin-dependent degradation. Description: Recognizes an oncofetal antigen of 220kDa, identified as a Tumor-associated glycoprotein (TAG-72) with properties of a mucin. This mAb defines the mucin-carried sialylated-Tn epitope. TAG72 is usually expressed by adenocarcinomas, but is negative in mesotheliomas. Studies have reported that this antibody has 80% sensitivity and 93% specificity for pulmonary adenocarcinoma. Therefore, TAG72 is a useful marker to distinguish between mesothelioma and adenocarcinoma. However, false positive reactions can occur so results must be interpreted with the utmost caution. This antibody may be useful in the differentiation of non-small cell carcinomas from small cell carcinomas of the lung. The combined use of anti-TAG72 and anti-GCDFP-15 is valuable in the diagnosis of apocrine carcinoma.
