Description: c(RGDfC), a RGD tumor-targeting peptide, which binds to αvβ3 receptors. c(RGDfC) can be easily conjugated to drugs as combretastatin or surfaces. For the control peptide c(RADfC) see H-7232

Supplier: Bachem Americas
Description: Small quantities of Aβ37, 38 and 39 can be detected in CSF together with Aβ40, the most abundant Aβ homolog, Aβ42, and N-terminally truncated amyloid peptides. The relative amounts depend on the variant of Alzheimer's disease. The C-terminally truncated amyloid peptides are also found in amyloid plaques.

Supplier: Bachem Americas
Description: In the presence of as little as 1 mol% pPE-amide, a broad range of aldehydes and nitroolefins react readily with each other. The resulting γ-nitroaldehydes were obtained in excellent yields and stereoselectivities at room temperature.

Supplier: Bachem Americas
Description: The octapeptide ALILTLVS is produced by Streptococcus faecalis donor strains harboring bacteriocin plasmid pPD1. It inhibits the activity of sex pheromone cPD1. The non-polar peptide iPD1 is also used for calibration in mass spectrometry.

Description: Iberiotoxin (IbTx), from the venom of the scorpion Buthus tamulus, shows 68% sequence homology with charybdotoxin, another scorpion-derived peptidyl toxin. Although these two toxins both inhibit the high conductance Ca²⁺ activated K⁺ channel, they appear to bind at different sites on the channel and modulate channel activity by different mechanisms. Thus, iberiotoxin can be used to selectively study the function of the high conductance Ca²⁺ activated K⁺ channel.

Supplier: Bachem Americas
Description: Vasonatrin peptide is a chimera of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) and C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP). Its sequence represents the 22 amino acids of CNP plus the 5 C-terminal amino acids of ANP. It possesses the venodilating actions of CNP, the natriuretic actions of ANP, and unique arterial vasodilating actions associated neither with ANP nor with CNP.

Description: These monosubstituted analogs of ShK toxin, a class of K channel blocking peptide toxins derived from the sea anemone Stichodactyla helianthus, were prepared in order to identify functionally important residues. Hereby it has been shown that the location of Lys²² within a helical structure represents a unique difference between the interactive surfaces of the sea anemone and scorpion toxins.

Description: Small synthetic molecules called growth-hormone secretagogues (GHSs) stimulate the release of growth hormone (GH) from the pituitary through a G protein-coupled receptor (GHS-R). Recently, ghrelin ("ghre" is the Proto-Indo-European root of the word "grow") has been identified as an endogenous ligand for GHS-R. These peptides consist of 28 amino acids with an octanoyl-residue at Ser³, which is essential for expressing activity. Ghrelin stimulates GH release from rat primary culture pituitary cells in a dose-dependent manner and induces an increase in intracellular Ca²⁺ in GHS-R-expressing cells with an EC₅₀ value of 2.5 nM. Human ghrelin is homologous to rat ghrelin apart from two amino acids. The occurrence of ghrelin in both rat and human indicates that GH release from the pituitary may be regulated not only by hypothalamic GHRH, but also by ghrelin. In future, ghrelin might be used in the treatment of aging patients as well as in patients with idiopathic GH deficiency, obesity, osteoporosis or cardiovascular diseases.
