Description: STAT2 is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. Unlike other STATs, STAT2 is unique as it can only be activated by interferons (IFNs). STAT2 is a critical component in mediating many IFN-stimulated biological activities including antiproliferation and antiviral responses. Upon IFN treatment, STAT1 and STAT2 become tyrosine phosphorylated, assemble as heterodimers that bind IRF9 to form the ISGF3 complex. This complex translocates to the nucleus, binds to promoters of IFN-stimulated genes and mediates gene transcription. Consequently, mutations in STAT2 or loss of STAT2 expression leads to impairment in IFN signal transduction and gene activation. IFN-alpha is an approved drug for the treatment of several forms of cancer. Yet only a subset of patients who receive IFN-alpha therapy benefit from the treatment. Given that STAT2 is activated by IFNs, it is important to define if the reduced or lack of antitumor effects seen in cancer patients on IFN therapy is due to in defects in STAT2 function. STAT2 pS734 antibody is ideal for researchers focused in cancer and transcripton factor research.

Description: The sodium-coupled neutral amino acid transporters (SNAT) of the SLC38 gene family include System A subtypes SNAT1, SNAT2 and SNAT4 and System N subtypes SNAT3 and SNAT5. The SLC38 transporters are essential for the uptake of nutrients, energy production, metabolism, detoxification, and the cycling of neurotransmitters. SNAT2, also designated ATA2, PRO1068 and SAT2 is encoded by the human gene SLC38A2. The functional role of SNAT2 in the nervous system is unclear. Protein expression is notably enriched in the spinal cord and brain stem nuclei of the auditory system. System A transport proteins are also present in placental tissue. These SNAT proteins may play a significant role in fetal development and inhibition of the transport system has been associated with fetal growth retardation.

Description: SATB1 Antibody: Human special AT-rich sequence-binding protein-1 (SATB1) is a nuclear matrix/scaffold-associated region DNA-binding protein, predominantly expressed in the thymus and pre-B cells. Like its homolog SATB2, SATB1 selectively binds double-stranded, special AT-rich DNA sequences in which one strand exclusively consists of well-mixed A, T, and C nucleotides. SATB1 contains a dimerization domain that shares similarity with the PDZ motif, identified as an indispensable element for high-affinity binding of SATB1 to DNA. SATB1 constitutes a functional nuclear architecture that has a 'cage-like' protein distribution surrounding heterochromatin and regulates gene expression through chromatin remodeling/HDAC (histone deacetylase complex) and transcription factors recruitment. SATB1 functions as a 'genome organizer' essential for proper T-cell development. Recent studies show that SATB1 is necessary for breast cancer cells to become metastatic, and when ectopically expressed in non-metastatic cells, can induce invasive activity in vivo. At least two isoforms of SATB1 are known to exist.
