Description: Annexin V is an anticoagulant protein that acts as an indirect inhibitor of the thromboplastin-specific complex, which is involved in the blood coagulation cascade. Annexin V competes for phosphatidylserine binding sites (e. g. platelets) with prothrombin or coagulation factors and inhibis the activity of phospholipase A1. Antibodies directed against annexin V are found in patients with a disease called the antiphospholipid syndrome(APS), a thrombophilic disease associated with autoantibodies against phospholipid compounds. Annexin V is used as a probe in the "annexin V affinity assay" to detect cells that have expressed phosphatidylserine on the cell surface, a feature found in apoptosis and other forms of cell death.

Description: PUM2 is a sequence-specific RNA-binding protein that regulates translation and mRNA stability by binding the 3'-UTR of mRNA targets. Its interactions and tissue specificity suggest that it may be required to support proliferation and self-renewal of stem cells by regulating the translation of key transcripts.

Catalog Number: (75791-758)
Supplier: Prosci
Description: Transforming growth factor- beta (TGF- beta ) is an essential regulator in the processes of development, cell proliferation, and extracellular matrix deposition. TGF- beta regulates cellular processes by binding to three high-affinity cell surface receptors: TGF- beta receptor type I (TGF- beta -RI), TGF- beta receptor type II (TGF- beta -RII), and TGF- beta beta receptor type III (TGF- beta -RIII). TGF- beta RII is consists of a C-terminal protein kinase domain and an N-terminal ectodomain and belongs to transforming growth factor-beta (TGF- beta ) receptor subfamily. TGF- beta RII has a protein kinase domain which can form a heterodimeric complex with another receptor protein and bind TGF-beta. This receptor/ligand complex phosphorylates protein will enter the nucleus and regulate the transcription of a subset of genes related to cell proliferation.

Description: SILV could be a melanogenic enzyme. It could represent an oncofetal self-antigen that is normally expressed at low levels in quiescent adult melanocytes but overexpressed by proliferating neonatal melanocytes and during tumor growth. Release of the soluble form, ME20-S, it could protect tumor cells from antibody mediated immunity.

Description: Anti-LPCAT4 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Catalog Number: (76012-754)
Supplier: Prosci
Description: This gene encodes a member of the WD repeat protein family. WD repeats are minimally conserved regions of approximately 40 amino acids typically bracketed by gly-his and trp-asp (GH-WD), which may facilitate formation of heterotrimeric or multiprotein complexes. Members of this family are involved in a variety of cellular processes, including cell cycle progression, signal transduction, apoptosis, and gene regulation. This gene has a pseudogene at chromosome 4q31.3. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene, but the biological validity and full-length nature of some variants have not been determined.

Description: The 2H7 monoclonal antibody specifically reacts with human CD20, a 33-37kDA B-lymphocyte surface molecule. CD20 is an unglycosylated four-transmembrane phosphoprotein expressed by B cells in all stage of development, except the final plasma cells. It has been reported that the molecule is involved in B cell activation and has also been observed on a subset of circulating T lymphocytes.
