Description: CD74 represents a type II integral membrane protein known as MHC class II-associated invariant chain. It is moderately expressed on B cells and weakly on monocytes and macrophages. CD74 is also found on a subset of activated T cells, Langerhans cells, dendritic cells, and some epithelial cells. CD74 may play a role in antigen processing and presentation through intracellular transport and expression of class II molecules on the cell surface.

Description: CD11a, also known as leukocyte function-associated antigen-1 (LFA-1α), represents the 180 kDa integrin αL subunit which combines with the CD18 β2 integrin subunit to form the αLβ2 integrin heterodimer. It is expressed on lymphocytes, granulocytes, monocytes, and macrophages and is upregulated on activated T cells. CD11a mediates adhesion of lymphocytes to vascular endothelium and is involved in costimulation.

Description: CD1 molecules, like MHC I and II, play an important role in the immune system by presenting lipid, glycolipid and lipopeptide antigen to T and NKT cells. The chicken CD1 gene is located in the chicken MHC B locus and has an important implication for the primordial MHC gene evolution. Two proteins have been identified - CD1.1 and CD1.2. Analysis of RNA from blood cells showed that both genes are expressed in Bu-1+ cells and CD8α+ cells. CD1.2 is expressed in TCRγδ cells but is nearly undetectable in TCRαβ. The monoclonal antibody CB3 antibody can identify cells of the B cell lineage and recognizes CD1.1 but not CD1.2 on the surface of transfected mammalian cells.

Description: Chicken MCAM, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors, consists of the V-V-C2-C2-C2 Ig domains. It is a single chain glycoprotein with three mRNA splice variants. One has a short cytoplasmic tail, another has a long tail, and the third seems to lack transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions. It is highly homologous to gicerin, a molecule involved in neurite outgrowth and Wilm’s kidney tumor progression in the chicken, and to the human melanoma progression molecule MUC18. Chicken MCAM is expressed by c-kit+ hematopoietic progenitor cells in embryonic bone marrow, thymocytes, and capillary endothelial cells. MCAM-expressing cells sorted from bone marrow are enriched in progenitors capable of differentiating into T cells when transferred into the appropriate thymic microenvironment. MCAM has been proposed to be involved in cellular adhesion and homing processes.

Description: CD14 is a 55 kDa glycosphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored single chain glycoprotein. It is expressed on monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and Langerhans cells. It is also weakly expressed on neutrophils. CD14 appears to be involved in clearance of gram-negative bacteria via its high affinity binding to LPS-LPB complexes.

Description: Goat Anti-Rat Ig-AP antibody with minimal reactivity to mouse proteins for use in ELISA, immunohistochemistry / immunocytochemistry, and western blotting assays.

Catalog Number: (100244-032)
Supplier: Southern Biotechnology
Description: The monoclonal antibody 14-4-4S reacts with the I-Ek class II alloantigen on cells from mice of the H-2d, H-2p, and H-2r haplotypes. Cells from mice of the H-2b, H-2f, H-2q, and H-2s haplotypes do not express I-E antigen. The antibody has been reported to cross-react with the rat MHC class II alloantigen RT1D.

Description: CD45RC represents an exon C-dependent isoform of CD45 glycoprotein. It is expressed at high density on all B lymphocytes, at intermediate density on most CD8+ splenic T cells, and on two subpopulations of CD4+ splenic T cells with high and low density of expression. CD45RC is also present on a small subset of thymocytes.

Description: Keratins are a family of intermediate filament proteins that assemble into filaments through forming heterodimers of one type I keratin (keratins 9 to 23) and one type II keratin (keratins 1-8). The two keratin types share only 30% sequence homology. Keratins demonstrate tissue- and differentiation-specific expression profiles. Cytokeratin 8 belongs to the type B (basic) subfamily of keratins and exists in combination with keratin 18. It is expressed in all simple type epithelia tissues (e.g., liver, pancreas, kidney, gut epithelial lining) but not in stratified squamous epithelia. Cytokeratin 8 is also present in the majority of adenocarcinomas and ductal carcinomas but is absent in most squamous cell carcinomas.

Description: The lymphocyte Fcγ receptors recognize the Fc portion of IgG, presented either as immune complexes or as free antibody. The different classes of receptors are distinct because of varying size, tissue distribution and affinity for IgGs. The Fc type II receptor is expressed on a wide variety of cells including B cells, hematopoietic cells, monocyte/macrophages, neutrophils, platelets, Langerhans cells, eosinophils, basophils, trophoblasts, and endothelial cells of the placenta. The Fcγ type III receptors are higher affinity than the type II and are expressed on macrophages, NK cells and neutrophils. Both types of receptors can be expressed on the same cell and in varying ratios. The receptors are constitutively expressed, although cytokines and lymphokines can modulate their expression. Besides identifying FcγR+ cells, monoclonal antibodies to the FcγII/III receptor have been used to block Fc receptor binding of IgG, Fc-mediated signal transduction and effector functions, clearance of immune complexes and to attenuate infection by organisms dependent on FcγR for parasitic invasion. The monoclonal antibody 93 recognizes a conformational epitope formed by FcγII and FcγIII receptors.
