Description: The exosome is a multi-subunit complex composed of several highly conserved proteins, some of which are 3’ to 5’ exoribonucleases. The complex is involved in a variety of cellular processes and is responsible for degrading unstable mRNAs that contain AU-rich (ARE) elements in their untranslated 3’ region. EXOSC10, also known as PMSCL, PMSCL2, p2, p3, p4, RRP6, Rrp6p, PM-Scl, or PM/Scl-100, is an 885 amino acid protein that contains one HRDC domain and one 3’-5’ enonuclease domain. Localized to both the cytoplasm and the nucleus, EXOSC10 is part of the post-splicing exosome complex and is involved in mRNA surveillance, mRNA nuclear export and nonsense-mediated decay of mRNAs containing premature stop codons. against EXOSC10 have been found in patients with scleroderma and/or polymyositis (chronic diseases of the skin and muscle, respectively), suggesting that EXOSC10 may be involved in the pathogenesis of these diseases. Two isoforms of EXOSC10 exist due to alternative splicing events.

Description: SKI3 is a component of the SKI complex which is composed of SKI2, SKI3 and SKI8. The SKI complex interacts with SKI7, making the link between the SKI complex and the exosome in order to perform mRNA degradation. Anti-SKI3 Antibody is ideal for research in Gene Expression.

Description: Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs) are thought to be involved in pre-mRNA processing. However, its role in the regulation of gene expression is as yet poorly understood. Proteins of the heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoparticles (hnRNP) family form a structurally diverse group of RNA binding proteins implicated in various functions. Recently, hnRNP proteins have been shown to hinder communication between factors bound to different splice sites. Conversely, several reports have described a positive role for some hnRNP proteins in pre-mRNA splicing. hnRNP-U, also termed scaffold attachment factor A (SAF-A), binds to pre-mRNA and nuclear matrix/scaffold attachment region DNA elements.

Description: SFRS7 is a member of the serine/arginine (SR) splicing factor family, which mediated the alternative splicing events target the resulting mRNAs for degradation by means of an RNA surveillance pathway called nonsense-mediated mRNA decay. It was found to repress the splicing of MAPT/Tau exon 10

Catalog Number: (10461-732)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: RNA-binding protein implicated in numerous RNA metabolic processes. Catalyzes the phosphorolysis of single-stranded polyribonucleotides processively in the 3'-to-5' direction. Mitochondrial intermembrane factor with RNA-processing exoribonulease activity. Component of the mitochondrial degradosome (mtEXO) complex, that degrades 3' overhang double-stranded RNA with a 3'-to-5' directionality in an ATP-dependent manner. Required for correct processing and polyadenylation of mitochondrial mRNAs. Plays a role as a cytoplasmic RNA import factor that mediates the translocation of small RNA components, like the 5S RNA, the RNA subunit of ribonuclease P and the mitochondrial RNA-processing (MRP) RNA, into the mitochondrial matrix. Plays a role in mitochondrial morphogenesis and respiration; regulates the expression of the electron transport chain (ETC) components at the mRNA and protein levels. In the cytoplasm, shows a 3'-to-5' exoribonuclease mediating mRNA degradation activity; degrades c-myc mRNA upon treatment with IFNB1/IFN-beta, resulting in a growth arrest in melanoma cells. Regulates the stability of specific mature miRNAs in melanoma cells; specifically and selectively degrades miR-221, preferentially. Plays also a role in RNA cell surveillance by cleaning up oxidized RNAs. Binds to the RNA subunit of ribonuclease P, MRP RNA and miR-221 microRNA.

Description: SIP1 is one of the proteins found in the SMN complex, which consists of the survival of motor neuron (SMN) protein and several gemin proteins. The SMN complex is localized to a subnuclear compartment called gems (gemini of coiled bodies) and is required for assembly of spliceosomal snRNPs and for pre-mRNA splicing. SIP1 interacts directly with the SMN and it is required for formation of the SMN complex. A knockout mouse targeting the mouse homolog of this gene exhibited disrupted snRNP assembly and motor neuron degeneration. However, knockdown of the SIP1 mRNA in motor neurons showed normal motor axons while that of SMN mRNA did show abnormal motor axon outgrowth, indicating that SIP1 may have additional roles outside of the SMN complex.
