Cod Uracil N-Glycosylase (UNG)
Supplier: EMPIRICAL BIOSCIENCETotal Ratings: 0
Avg. Ratings: 0.0 out of 5
This enzyme is a thermolabile uracil N-glycosylase (UNG) obtained from Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua). UNG enzymes specifically hydrolyze the N-glycosidic bond of uracil residues in ss/dsDNA molecules leaving an abasic site in the strand but will not react with RNA.
- Applications: Carryover prevention
The enzyme is rapidly and irreversibly inactivated at temperatures above 50 °C making it suited for carryover prevention in standard qPCR or RT-qPCR applications. It is active in most standard reaction buffers used for derivatives of Taq and Pfu DNA polymerases.
