Description: RTP801 Antibody: RTP801 was initially identified as a gene induced by DNA damage, and later found to also be regulated by other cellular stresses such as hypoxia and glucocorticoid treatment. Recently, RTP801 has been shown to act as a mediator of tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC)-dependent regulation of the mammalian Target of Rapamycin (mTOR), an evolutionarily conserved serine/threonine kinase that regulates cell growth and cell cycle. In response to energy stress, RTP801 inhibits mTOR function, resulting in dephosphorylation of downstream targets such as ribosomal protein S6 kinase 1 and 4EBP1 and decreasing cell growth. Disregulation of RTP801 may thus contribute to human tumorigenesis.

Description: ORAI3 Antibody: Antigen stimulation of immune cells triggers Ca++ entry through Ca++ release-activated Ca++ (CRAC) channels. ORAI3 is one of two mammalian homologs to ORAI1, a recently identified four-transmembrane spanning protein that is an essential component of CRAC. All three homologs have been shown to function as Ca++ plasma membrane channels gated through interactions with STIM1, the store-activated endoplasmic reticulum Ca++ sensor. However, ORAI3 channels failed to produce detectable Ca++ selective currents in cells co-transfected with ORAI3 and STIM1, indicating that ORAI3 channels undergo a lesser degree of depotentiation than ORAI1 or ORAI2. Na+ currents through ORAI1, 2 and 3 channels were equally inhibited by extracellular Ca++, indicating that each have similar affinities for Ca++ within the selectivity filter. This antibody is predicted to have no cross-reactivity to ORAI1 or ORAI2.

Description: The G4.18 monoclonal antibody specifically reacts with rat CD3, a T cell lineage marker and associated with the T cell receptor (TCR). CD3 is involved in antigen recognition, cell activation, and signal transduction and is found on subsets of NK-T, peripheral T, dendritic epidermal T, and thymocyte cells. Immobilized G4.18 antibody activates T cells in vitro and in vivo treatments of the G4.18 antibody prevents cardiac and skin allograft rejection.

Description: TLR11, an innate sensor for profilin (Toxoplasma gondii), is an intracellular receptor that resides in the endoplasmic reticulum. The 12 membrane-spanning endoplasmic reticulum-resident protein UNC93B1 interacts directly with TLR11 and regulates the activation of dendritic cells in response to profilin (Toxoplasma gondii) and parasitic infection in vivo. TLR12, a previously uncharacterized TLR, also recognizes profilin from Toxoplasma gondii. TLR12 is sufficient for recognition of profilin by plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs), whereas TLR11 and TLR12 are both required in macrophages and conventional DCs. In contrast to TLR11, TLR12-deficient mice succumb rapidly to T. gondii infection.

Description: APP Antibody: Accumulation of the amyloid-beta peptide (Abeta) in the cerebral cortex is a critical event in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease. The beta-amyloid protein precursor (APP) is cleaved by one of two beta-secretases (BACE and BACE2), producing a soluble derivative of the protein and a membrane anchored 99-amino acid carboxy-terminal fragment (C99). The C99 fragment serves as substrate for gamma-secretase to generate the 4 kDa amyloid-beta peptide (Abeta), which is deposited in the Alzheimer's disease patient's brains. Recently, Death Receptor 6 (DR6) was found to interact with an amino-terminal fragment of the Beta-amyloid protein (N-APP) in neurons, activating a caspase 6-dependent apoptotic event leading to axonal degeneration and pruning during development, suggesting that these two proteins are involved in neural development and may possibly play a role in Alzheimer's disease.

Description: The O323 monoclonal antibody specifically binds to the human CD27, which is a lymphocyte-specific member of the TNF/NGF-R family, expressed on a subset of human thymocytes and the majority of the mature T cells. CD27 is upregulated by T lymphocytes stimulation, and binds to CD70, enhancing the interaction between T and B lymphocytes. CD27 is a marker of memory B cells.

Description: The 2;5 chromosomal translocation is frequently associated with anaplastic large cell lymphomas (ALCLs). The translocation creates a fusion gene consisting of the ALK (anaplastic lymphoma kinase) gene and the nucleophosmin (NPM) gene: the 3' half of ALK, derived from chromosome 2, is fused to the 5' portion of NPM from chromosome 5. A recent study shows that the product of the NPM-ALK fusion gene is oncogenic. The deduced amino acid sequences reveal that ALK is a novel receptor protein-tyrosine kinase having a putative transmembrane domain and an extracellular domain.

Description: Atrophin-1 contains a polyglutamine repeat, expansion of which is responsible for dentatorubral and pallidoluysian atrophy. The protein encoded by this gene interacts with atrophin-1. This encoded protein is a closely related member of the NEDD4-like protein family. This family of proteins are E3 ubiquitin-ligase molecules and regulate key trafficking decisions, including targeting of proteins to proteosomes or lysosomes. This encoded protein contains four tandem WW domains and a HECT (homologous to the E6-associated protein carboxyl terminus) domain.

Description: FOXO1A belongs to the forkhead family of transcription factors which are characterized by a distinct forkhead domain. The specific function of FOXO1A has not yet been determined; however, it may play a role in myogenic growth and differentiation. Translocation of FOXO1A gene with PAX3 has been associated with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma.

Description: This gene encodes a protein localized in mitochondria and closely related to paraplegin. The paraplegin gene is responsible for an autosomal recessive form of hereditary spastic paraplegia. Description: TIRAP Antibody: Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are signaling molecules that recognize different microbial products during infection and serve as an important link between the innate and adaptive immune responses. These proteins act through adaptor molecules such as TIRAP and MyD88 to activate various kinases and transcription factors. In TIRAP-deficient mice, TLR signaling in response to TLR2 ligands (using either TLR1 and TLR6 as co-receptors) is totally abolished, suggesting that MyD88 and TIRAP work together and are both required for TLR2 signaling. Furthermore, these mice are also resistant to the toxic effects of LPS and show defects in NF-kappa B and MAP kinase activation, suggesting that TIRAP is also involed in TLR4 signaling.

Description: Rift Valley Fever Virus Antibody: Rift Valley Fever (RFV) virus is an arthropod-borne virus endemic to Africa that infects humans and animals that is transmitted predominantly by mosquitoes. During human infections, symptoms can range from benign fever to severe encephalitis and fatal hepatitis with hemorrhagic fever. The Bunyaviridae family of viruses to which the RVF virus belongs are spherical enveloped viruses with a tripartite RNA genome of negative or ambisense polarity. The three segments are referred to as the L, M, and S segments. The L and M segments are negative polarity and code fore the L-dependent RNA polymerase and glycoprotein precursor respectively. The S segment is of ambisense polarity and encodes the nucleoprotein and non-structural proteins. This RVF virus antibody was derived from a peptide sequence near the center of the polyprotein precursor translated from the M segment. It will therefore detect both the precursor and the Glycoprotein G1.
