Description: Secreted Phosphoprotein 1 (SPP1) is a secreted multifunctional glycoprotein. Its putative functions include roles in bone metabolism, immune regulation, wound healing, cell survival, and tumor progression. Based on gene structure and chromosomal location, SPP1 is a member of the small integrin-binding ligand N-linked glycoprotein (SIBLING) family that also includes bone sialoprotein (BSP), dentin matrix protein 1 (DMP1), dentin sialophosphoprotein (DSPP), enamelin (ENAM), and matrix extracellular phosphoglycoprotein (MEPE). SPP1 is expressed in bone, although it is also expressed in other tissues. SPP1 acts as a cytokine that is involved in enhancing production of interferon-gamma and interleukin-12 and reducing production of interleukin-10. It is essential in the pathway that leads to type I immunity. Osteopontin has been implicated as an important factor in bone remodeling. Specifically, research suggests it plays a role in anchoring osteoclasts to the mineral matrix of bones. The fact that SPP1 interacts with multiple cell surface receptors which are ubiquitously expressed makes it an active player in many physiological and pathological processes including wound healing, bone turnover, tumorigenesis, inflammation and ischemia. Therefore, manipulation of plasma Osteopontin levels may be useful in the treatment of autoimmune diseases, cancer metastasis, osteoporosis and some forms of stress.

Description: RGPD5 Antibody: The RANBP2-like and GRIP domain containing 5 protein (RGPD5) has high similarity to RANBP2, a large RAN-binding protein localized at the cytoplasmic side of the nuclear pore complex. The gene coding for RGPD5 is thought to have arisen from a gene duplication event of RANBP2 as these highly homologous genes are located close to each other at chromosome 2q11-q12. RGPD5 was identified as an HIV dependency factor (HDF), suggesting that RGPD5 may be an important drug target in HIV treatment. At least two isoforms of RGPD5 are known to exist, of which the shorter isoform is expressed primarily in testis, while the longer of the two is expressed at low levels in a number of somatic tissues.

Description: Positive effector of BCR-stimulated responses. Couples the B-cell antigen receptor (BCR) to the mobilization of calcium ion either through a phosphoinositide 3-kinase-dependent pathway, when not phosphorylated on tyrosines of the linker region, or through a phospholipase C gammadependent pathway, when phosphorylated on Tyr-348 and Tyr-352. Thus the differential phosphorylation of Syk can determine the pathway by which BCR is coupled to the regulation of intracellular calcium ion

Description: SOX15 is a member of the SOX (SRY-related HMG-box) family of transcription factors involved in the regulation of embryonic development and in the determination of the cell fate. The protein may act as a transcriptional regulator after forming a protein complex with other proteins. This gene encodes a member of the SOX (SRY-related HMG-box) family of transcription factors involved in the regulation of embryonic development and in the determination of the cell fate. The encoded protein may act as a transcriptional regulator after forming a protein complex with other proteins.

Description: This mAb recognizes a 27kDa protein, identified as the p27Kip1, a cell cycle regulatory mitotic inhibitor. It is highly specific and shows no cross-reaction with other related mitotic inhibitors. p27Kip1 functions as a negative regulator of G1 progression and has been proposed to function as a possible mediator of TGF- induced G1 arrest. p27Kip1 is a candidate tumor suppressor gene.

Description: The biological functions of RELM beta, and its molecular targets, are not fully known but, it has been suggested that it plays a regulatory role during inflammation and may also act to establish links among adipose tissue, the intestine and the liver (Rajala, M. et al. J. Clin. Invest. Vol. 111, 225-230 (2003)). Interestingly the molecular structure of RELM beta is highly homologous to that of the adipose-derived cytokine Resistin and RELM beta. These proteins share a highly conserved C-terminal domain, characterized by 10 cysteine residues with a unique spacing motif of C-X11-C-X8-C-X-C-X3-C-X10-C-X-C-X-C-X9-C-C.

Description: Vezatin (VEZT) is a transmembrane protein which localizes to adherens junctions and binds to myosin VIIA and the cadherin-catenins complex. Expression of this gene in gastric cancer tissues is decreased due to hypermethylation of the promoter. Expression of this gene may also be inhibited by binding of a specific microRNA to a target sequence in the 3' UTR of the transcripts. VEZT has also been shown to be required for morphogenesis of the preimplantation mouse embryo.

Description: ZNF346 Antibody: ZNF346, also known as JAZ (just another zinc-finger protein), is a nucleolar, zinc finger protein which preferentially binds to double-stranded (ds) RNA or RNA/DNA hybrids with high affinity via C2H2 zinc fingers. ZNF346 contains four CH-type zinc finger motifs that are connected by long (28-38) amino acid linker sequences. ZNF346 is expressed in all tissues tested and localizes to the nucleus, primarily the nucleolus. ZNF346 is exported by exportin-5 but translocates back into nuclei by a facilitated diffusion mechanism. ZNF346 interacts with ILF3 in an RNA-independent manner and may be involved in cell growth and survival.

Description: HSD11B2 catalyzes the conversion of cortisol to the inactive metabolite cortisone. It modulates intracellular glucocorticoid levels, thus protecting the nonselective mineralocorticoid receptor from occupation by glucocorticoids.
