Description: West Nile Virus Core Antibody: West Nile Virus (WNV) is a member of the Flaviviridae, a plus-stranded virus family that includes St. Louis encephalitis virus, yellow fever virus, and Dengue virus. WNV was initially isolated in 1937 in the West Nile region of Uganda and has become prevalent in Africa, Asia, and Europe. It has rapidly spread across the United States with cases being observed in every continental state. Virus particles consist of a dense core made up of the core/capsid protein encapsulating the RNA genome surrounded by a membrane envelope embedded with envelope and matrix proteins which play a major role for WNV entry into target cells. The viral core protein is thought to contribute to the WNV-associated inflammation via apoptosis induced though the caspase-9 pathway as delivery of core gene delivery into the striatum of mouse brain and skeletal muscle resulted in cell death and inflammation.

Description: The TS2/16 moncolonal antibody specifically reacts with human CD29 (Integrin beta1), a 130 kDA type I glycoprotein expressed on hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells. It forms the VLA-(1-6) molecules with integrin alpha-(1-6) and is involved in the adhesion between cell-cell and cell-matrix. The TS2/16 antibody has been found to activate beta 1 integrins.

Description: This protein binds the cAMP response element (CRE), a sequence present in many viral and cellular promoters. CREB stimulates transcription on binding to the CRE. Transcription activation is enhanced by the TORC coactivators which act independently of Ser-133 phosphorylation. Implicated in synchronization of circadian rhythmicity.

Description: Caldesmon is an actin- and myosin-binding protein implicated in the regulation of actomyosin interactions in smooth muscle and nonmuscle cells (could act as a bridge between myosin and actin filaments). Stimulates actin binding of tropomyosin which increases the stabilization of actin filament structure. In muscle tissues, inhibits the actomyosin ATPase by binding to F-actin. This inhibition is attenuated by calcium-calmodulin and is potentiated by tropomyosin. Interacts with actin, myosin, two molecules of tropomyosin and with calmodulin. Also play an essential role during cellular mitosis and receptor capping. Involved in Schwann cell migration during peripheral nerve regeneration (By similarity). [UniProt]

Description: TGIF2LY is a member of the TALE/TGIF homeobox family of transcription factors. This gene lies within the male specific region of chromosome Y, in a block of sequence that is thought to be the result of a large X-to-Y transposition. The C-terminus of this protein is divergent from that of its chromosome X homolog (TGIF2LX), suggesting that this protein may act as a regulator of TGIF2LX.This gene encodes a member of the TALE/TGIF homeobox family of transcription factors. Description: T cells require a signal induced by the engagement of the T cell receptor and a €œcostimulatory€ signal(s) through distinct T cell surface molecules for optimal T cell activation and tolerance. CD273 is one of two ligands for programmed death-1 (PD-1; CD279), a member of the CD28 family of immunoreceptors. The other identified ligand is PD-L1. CD273 is broadly expressed and also up regulated in a variety of tumor cell lines. On previously activated T cells, CD273 interaction with PD-1 inhibits TCR mediated proliferation and cytokine production, suggesting an inhibitory role in regulating immune responses. CD273 has a costimulatory function on resting T cells activated with suboptimal TCR signals.
