Description: This antibody recognizes a protein of 55 kDa, identified as CD14 (also known lipopolysaccharide receptor). CD14 is expressed strongly on monocytes and macrophage and weakly on the surface of neutrophils. CD14 is anchored to cells by linkage to glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) and functions as a high affinity receptor for complexes of LPS and LPS binding protein (LBP). Soluble CD14, also binding to LPS, acts at physiological concentration as an LPS agonist and has, at higher concentrations, an LPS antagonizing effect in cell activation.

Description: This MAb is specific for human interferon alpha 1 and does not cross react with human interferon alpha 2. Interferons are widely used therapeutic agents because of their anti-tumor and anti-viral effects and because of their modulatory effects on the immune system. These cytokines produce their effects by binding to the Type 1 Interferon- & Receptor (IFNAR1). Down regulation of this receptor plays a key role in determining the magnitude and duration of cytokine signaling. This down regulation is influenced by phosphorylation of Serine 535 and 539 in the IFNAR1.

Description: This product is prepared by labeling highly cross-adsorbed donkey anti-goat IgG (H+L) with CF™405S. CF™405S is a blue fluorescent dye with an absorption peak wavelength that nearly coincides with the 405 nm blue diode laser line. In addition, the emission peak wavelength of the dye well centers within the blue detection window of BD flow cytometers. As a result, flow cytometry analysis using CF™405S dye results in much brighter signal than that using Alexa Fluor® 405. To minimize cross reactivity, the antibody has been adsorbed against chicken, guinea pig, Syrian hamster, horse, human, mouse, rabbit, and rat serum proteins.

Description: This antibody recognizes an oncofetal glycoprotein with a single chain of 70 kDa, which is identified as alpha fetoprotein (AFP). This MAb is highly specific to AFP and shows no cross-reaction with other oncofetal antigens or serum albumin. The yolk sac and the liver produce AFP during fetal life. AFP expression in adults is often associated with hepatoma or teratoma. However, hereditary persistence of alpha-fetoprotein may also be found in individuals with no obvious pathology. The protein is thought to be the fetal counterpart of serum albumin, and the AFP and albumin genes are present in tandem in the same transcriptional orientation on chromosome 4. AFP is found in monomeric as well as dimeric and trimeric forms, and binds copper, nickel, fatty acids and bilirubin. The level of AFP in amniotic fluid is used to measure renal loss of protein to screen for spinal bifida and anencephaly.

Description: This MAb recognizes a single chain, transmembrane, heavily glycosylated protein of 90-120 kDa, which is identified as CD34. Its expression is a hallmark for identifying pluripotent hematopoietic stem or progenitor cells. Its expression is gradually lost as lineage committed progenitors differentiate. CD34 is a marker of choice for staining blasts in acute myeloid leukemia. In addition, CD34 is expressed by soft tissue tumors, such as solitary fibrous tumor and gastrointestinal stromal tumor. Its expression is also found in vascular endothelium. Additionally, it appears that proliferating endothelial cells express this molecule more than the non-proliferating endothelial cells. Anti-CD34 labels > 85% of angiosarcoma and Kaposi's sarcoma, but with a lower specificity.
