Catalog Number: (75928-172)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: Human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) entry into target cells is directed by the envelope (Env) glycoproteins, which are present on the surface of HIV-1 virion or infected cells in the form of trimers consisting of gp120/gp41 complexes. The surface subunit, gp120, initiates the entry process by interacting sequentially with the CD4 receptor and a co-receptor CCR5 or CXCR4, thereby inducing a conformational change that allows the transmembrane (TM) gp41 subunit to mediate fusion between viral and target cell membranes. Cleavage of Env into its gp120 and gp41 components is necessary for activation of its fusogenic activity.

Description: The 50 kDa type III intermediate filament protein glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) is a major structural component of astrocytes. GFAP associates with the calcium binding protein annexin II-p2 and S-100. Association with these proteins together with phosphorylation regulates GFAP polymerization. Astroycytes respond to brain injury by proliferatin (astrogliosis), and one of the first events to occur during astrocyte proiliferation is increased GFAP expression. Interestingly, antibodies to GFAP have been detected in individuals with dementia. Anti-GFAP is ideal for investigators involved in Neuroscience Research, including Alexander Disease, Oligodendroglioma, Cytoskleton Remolding Neurofilaments and PIP3/AKT Signaling.

Description: A member in the RIP kinase family was identified and designated RIP3 (Receptor-interacting serine/threonine protein kinase-3). RIP3 contains an N-terminal kinase domain but, unlike RIP or RIP2, lacks the C-terminal death or CARD domain. RIP3 binds to RIP and TNF-R1, mediates TNF-R1 induced apoptosis, and attenuates RIP and TNF-R1 induced NF-κB activation.

Supplier: Tonbo Biosciences
Description: The MEL-14 antibody is specific for mouse CD62L, also known as L-Selectin, a cell adhesion molecule which facilitates lymphocyte “rolling” on activated vascular endothelium and homing to high endothelial venules (HEV) as immune cells transmigrate from blood into peripheral tissues. L-Selectin is a member of a family of Selectin molecules which act together with the integrin family of adhesion molecules to mediate leukocyte-endothelial interactions. L-Selectin is characteristically expressed by neutrophils, and is also found on B cells, monocytes, granulocytes, and at varying levels on naive, effector and memory T cells. It is rapidly shed upon cell activation, releasing into the circulation a soluble form whose biological role is of particular interest in cancer biology research.

Supplier: Diagnostic Biosystems
Description: Galectin-3 is a member of the beta-galactoside-binding protein family that plays an important role in cell adhesion, cell matrix interactions, macrophage activation, angiogenesis, metastasis, and apoptosis.

Galectin-3 shows strong diffuse cytoplasmic staining in most cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), most poorly differentiated thyroid cancers demonstrate galectin-3 protein expression while it is not expressed in anaplastic thyroid cancers. (1) Upregulated expression of galectin-3 is involved in cancer progression and metastasis, and it is suggested that Galectin-3 may be a valuable tool to support diagnosis of parathyroid carcinoma. (2)

Galectin-3 has also been reported to play important roles in the progression of prostate cancer, and their heterogeneous expressions might be associated with different cancer subtypes. (3)

Supplier: Enzo Life Sciences
Description: The Hsp70 family of heat shock protiens contains multiple homologs ranging in size from 66-78 kDa, and are the eukaryotic equivalents of the bacterial DnaK. The most studied Hsp70 members include the cytosolic stress-induced Hsp70 (Hsp72), the constitutive cytosolic Hsc70 (Hsp73), and the ER-localized BiP (Grp78). Hsp70 family members contain highly conserved N-terminal ATP-ase and C-terminal protein binding domains. Binding of peptide to Hsp70 is assisted by Hsp40, and stimulates the inherent ATPase activity of Hsp70, facilitating ATP hydrolysis and enhanced peptide binding. Hsp70 nucleotide exchange and substrate binding coordinates the folding of newly synthesized proteins, the re-folding of misfolded or denatured proteins, coordinates trafficking of proteins across cellular membranes, inhibits protein aggregation, and targets the degradation of proteins via the proteasomal pathway.

Supplier: Tonbo Biosciences
Description: The UCHL1 antibody reacts with the human CD45 isoform known as CD45RO, a protein tyrosine phosphatase of 220 kDa. CD45 is one of the most abundant hematopoietic markers, and is expressed on all leukocytes (the Leukocyte Common Antigen, LCA). Various isoforms are generated and expressed in cell-specific patterns. With their broad cell distribution, CD45 isoforms are critical for many leukocyte functions, regulating signal transduction and cell activation associated with the T cell receptor, B cell receptor, and IL-2 receptor. Other forms of CD45, with restricted cellular expression, include CD45R (B220), CD45RA and CD45RB.

Supplier: Enzo Life Sciences
Description: Hsp70-Hsp90 Organizing Protein (HOP, p60) is an ~60kDa protein that is a critical intermediate component for the efficient maturation of steroid receptor complexes, serving to recruit Hsp90 to Hsp70-containing complexes. HOP contains three tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR) domains, TPR1, TPR2a, and TPR2b.
