Catalog Number: (76262-706)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: xCT belongs to the amino acid-polyamine-organocation (APC) superfamily and L-type amino acid transporter (LAT) family. xCT gene encodes a member of a heteromeric, sodium-independent, anionic amino acid transport system that is highly specific for cysteine and glutamate. In this system, designated Xc(-), the anionic form of cysteine is transported in exchange for glutamate. Increased expression of this gene results in neuronal cell death. xCT may be associated with kaposi sarcoma, dyscalculia, cystinuria, spondylolsis, and anemia of prematurity. Anti-xCT Antibody is useful for researchers interested in Cancer Research, Glucose/Energy Metabolism Research, and Cell Surface Protein Interaction Research.

Description: ImmunoReagents’ Alkaline Phosphatase (AP) antibody conjugates are used in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western blotting techniques. AP is a 140 kDa enzyme that changes color in the presence of PNPP or BCIP/NBT substrates. These conjugates have a linear reaction rate thus allowing the researcher to increase sensitivity by prolonging substrate incubation times.

Catalog Number: (10800-980)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: DARC, also known as the Duffy antigen/chemokine receptor, is a seven-transmembrane protein homologous to the classical chemokine G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) with the exception of the motif required for G protein coupling. DARC can bind with high affinity several chemokines without transducing any signal, suggesting it may modulate the signals normally induced by these chemokines. Recently, DARC was found to interact with KAI1, a four transmembrane protein recently identified as a tumor metastasis suppressor protein. It is thought that tumor cells dislodged from the primary tumor and expressing KAI1 interact with DARC proteins expressed on vascular cells, transmitting a senescent signal to the tumor cells, while tumor cells that have lost KAI1 expression can proliferate and potentially give rise to metastases. At least three isoforms of DARC are known to exist.

Supplier: Enzo Life Sciences
Description: The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is a 170-kDa membrane bound receptor consisting of an extracellular ligand-binding domain, a single hydrophobic transmembrane region, and a tyrosine kinase domain-containing cytoplasmic region. Ligand binding induces receptor homo- or heterodimerization, triggering autophosphorylation of cytoplasmic tyrosine residues that provide docking sites for Src homology 2 (SH2) domain-containing signaling molecules. Src-mediated phosphorylation of EGFR at Tyr845 may contribute to EGFR hyperactivity in cancer, while autophosphorylation of EGFR at Tyr1068 and/or Tyr1173 in response to ligand binding is known to recruit cofactors (e.g. SHP1, RasGAP, SOS1, Grb2) that activate pathways associated with cell growth, apoptosis, adhesion, receptor endocytosis, and protein degradation.

Supplier: Immunoreagents
Description: TRITC (Tetramethylrhodamine isothiocyanate) is a popular rhodamine derivative pink in color but emits a red-orange color upon Emission at 580nm. TRITC is frequently paired with FITC in double labeling experiments and conjugated antibodies are often used in immunofluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, FLISA (fluorescent ELISA) and high throughput screening assays. These conjugates are best excited with the 532 nm spectral line of the He-Ne laser and are also recommended as a second color detection reagent in in situ hybridization applications. (Excitation/Emission = 555nm / 580nm Emission Color = Orange to Red (Similar Dyes: Alexa Fluor 555, Cy3, DyLight 550)

Description: The rate limiting enzyme in heme catabolism, heme oxygenase, was first described in 1968 and was thought to be a species of cytochrome P450. However, subsequent work showed the enzyme to be a protein distinct from the P450 family and capable of catalysing the degradation of heme to biliverdin and iron, with the concomitant release of carbon monoxide. This enzyme activity is highly conserved throughout the Animal Kingdom and has been identified in algae and plants as well as in all higher species. Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) was first purified to homogeneity from rat liver and pig spleen and shown to have a molecular weight of 32kDa. Increased expression of HO-1 can be induced by a large number of structurally unrelated pharmacological and other agents, including cytokines and oxidants, as well as by heat shock and other forms of cellular stress. Baseline levels of HO-1 expression are high in certain tissues, including spleen and liver, but enriched enzyme preparations are recommended for experimental analysis. Recent data have demonstrated a cytoprotective role for HO-1, preventing cell death by modulating intracellular iron levels.

Description: Transmembrane protein 106B (TMEM106B) is a single-pass transmembrane protein that is thought to be a novel risk factor for frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD), a group of clinically, pathologically and genetically heterogeneous disorders associated with atrophy in the frontal lobe and temporal lobe of the brain. The actual role of TMEM106B, and that of the closely related protein TMEM106A are still undetermined.

Catalog Number: (10802-810)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: Fibrillarin Antibody detects Nop1p which was originally identified as a nucleolar protein of bakers yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The Nop1p protein is 327 amino acids in size (34.5kDa), is essential for yeast viability, and is localized in the nucleoli. The systematic name for S. cerevisiae Nop1 is YDL014W, and it is now known to be part of the small subunit processome complex, involved in the processing of pre-18S ribosomal RNA. Nop1p is the yeast homologue of a protein found in all eukaryotes and archea generally called fibrillarin. Fibrillarin/Nop1p is extraordinarily conserved, so that the yeast and human proteins are 67% identical, and the human protein can functionally replace the yeast protein. Patients with the autoimmune disease scleroderma often have strong circulating autoantibodies to a ~34kDa protein which was subsequently found to be fibrillarin. Recent studies show that knock-out of the fibrillarin gene in mice results in embryonic lethality, although mice with only one functional fibrillarin/Nop1p gene were viable. Anti-Fibrillarin Antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Cell Proliferation and Cancer Research.
