Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: PIK3CB is a catalytic subunit of phosphoinositide-3-kinase beta. PIK3CB catalyzes the production of phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-triphosphate by phosphorylating phosphatidylinositol (PI), phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate (PIP) and phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2). Growth factors and hormones trigger this phosphorylation event, which in turn coordinates cell growth, cell cycle entry, cell migration and cell survival. PTEN reverses this process. PI3K signaling pathway is constitutively activated in human cancers that have loss of function of PTEN. Furthermore, PI3KCB down regulation can suppress cell growth in malignant gliomas. Anti-PIK3C beta Antibody is suitable for researcher in Cancer, Immunology and Nuclear Signaling research.

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: SOX4 belongs to the SOX family of transcription factors. These transcription factors are characterized by the conserved HMG (high mobility group) DNA binding domain and are involved in embryonic development. SOX4 has been shown to be important for the development of the cardiac outflow tract and of the internal nervous system. SOX 4 may also be involved in the apoptosis pathway were it can either lead to cell death or to tumorigenesis, and has been associated with several human cancer types. Anti-SOX4 Antibody is ideal for research in Cell Differentiation and Development, Gene Expression, Apoptosis and Cancer.

Catalog Number: (76262-730)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: Anti-PKM2 Antibody was designed, produced, and validated as part of the Joy Cappel Young Investigator Award (JCYIA). Pyruvate kinase has been shown to be expressed in tumor, embryonic and normal proliferating cells in varying levels. Studies show that when PKM2 is secreted it can induce EGFR phosphorylation which stimulates the EGFR downstream pathway. Previously PKM has been shown to be critical for aerobic glycolysis. Four isoforms of PKM play alternative roles within the system and post-translational modifications along these isoforms induce multiple pathways making this Anti-PKM2 antibody ideal for investigators involved in cancer research and post-translational modifications.

Description: Phosphoinositide 3 kinase enhancer (PIKE) is a recently identified nuclear GTPase that interacts with nuclear phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3 kinase) to stimulate its lipid kinase activity. PIKE exists in multiple isoforms; a shorter C-terminal isoform (PIKE-A) has also been identified as centaurin gamma 1. The longest isoform (PIKE-L) has been shown to bind to the adaptor protein Homer and thereby link to metabotropic glutamate receptors, leading to activation of PI3 kinase activity and prevention of neuronal apoptosis. Overexpression of PIKE-A enhances Akt activity and promotes cancer cell invasion, whereas decreased expression of PIKE-A via dominant negative expression of PIKE-A or PIKE-A knockdown inhibits these processes. In many human cancers, expression of PIKE-A is enhanced, leading to increased Akt activity and preventing apoptosis.

Description: The leucine zipper putative tumor suppressor 2 (LZTS2, also known as LAPSER1), a member of the LZTS family, is a negative regulator of the Wnt signaling pathway. It represses beta-catenin-mediated transcriptional activation by promoting the nuclear exclusion of beta-catenin. LZTS2 is involved in cytokinesis and regulates katanin-mediated microtubule severing and release from the centrosome. LZTS2 may negatively regulate axonal outgrowth by preventing the formation of microtubule bundles that are necessary for transport within the elongating axon. LZTS2 is highly expressed in testis and prostate, but it is deleted in multiple cancers, including prostate tumors, suggesting that LZTS2 acts as a potential tumor suppressor.

Description: Apoptosis is related to many diseases and induced by a family of cell death receptors and their ligands. Cell death signals are transduced by death domain containing adapter molecules and members of the caspase family of proteases. These death signals finally cause the degradation of chromosomal DNA by activated DNase. A human DNA fragmentation factor (DFF) was identified recently which is cleaved by caspase-3 during apoptosis. Mouse homologue of human DFF was identified as a DNase inhibitor designated ICAD, for inhibitor of caspase-activated DNase. Upon cleavage of DFF/ICAD, a caspase activated deoxyribonuclease (CAD) is released and activated and eventually causes the degradation of DNA in the nuclei. Therefore, the cleavage of CAD inhibitor molecule DFF/ICAD, which causes DNase activation and DNA degradation, is the hallmark of apoptotic cell death.

Description: Members in the TNF superfamily regulate immune responses and induce apoptosis. Two novel members in the TNF family were recently identified and designated BAFF/BLyS/TALL-1/THANK/zTNF4 and April/TALL-2, respectively. BAFF was characterized as a B cell activator since it induced B cell proliferation and immunoglobulin secretion. April regulates immunological and non-immunological cell growth. Three receptors, BCMA, TACI, and BAFF-R, for BAFF and April were recently identified. TACI, like BCMA, binds BAFF and April. TACI and its ligands regulate humoral immune responses, activate NF-kB and c-jun N-terminal kinase, and are involved in B cell associated autoimmune diseases.

Description: The intermediate filament tail domain-containing protein (IFLTD1) was initially identified as a candidate gene for pulmonary adenoma susceptibility 1 gene in mice. Transcripts of the gene were only detected in mouse lung tissue from strains carrying the Pas1-susceptible allele. Expression of different alleles of this gene in lung cancer cell lines resulted in different levels of colony formation in in vitro colony formation assays, suggesting that allelic variants of this gene can modulate growth of human cancer cells.
