Catalog Number: (89360-598)
Supplier: Genetex
Description: The c-Myc protein is a transcription factor, which is encoded by the c-Myc gene on human chromosome 8q24. c-Myc is commonly activated in a variety of tumor cells and plays an important role in cellular proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis and cell cycle progression. The phosphorylation of c-Myc has been investigated and previous studies have suggested a functional association between phosphorylation at Thr58/Ser62 by glycogen synthase kinase 3, cyclin-dependent kinase, ERK2 and C-Jun N-terminal Kinase (JNK) in cell proliferation and cell cycle regulation. Studies also have shown that c-Myc is essential for tumor cell development in vasculogenesis and angiogenesis that distribute blood throughout the cells, and which brought extensive attention in the development of new therapeutic approach for cancer treatment.

Supplier: Genetex
Description: The serine-threonine protein kinase encoded by the AKT1 gene is catalytically inactive in serum-starved primary and immortalized fibroblasts. AKT1 and the related AKT2 are activated by platelet-derived growth factor. The activation is rapid and specific, and it is abrogated by mutations in the pleckstrin homology domain of AKT1. It was shown that the activation occurs through phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase. In the developing nervous system AKT is a critical mediator of growth factor-induced neuronal survival. Survival factors can suppress apoptosis in a transcription-independent manner by activating the serine/threonine kinase AKT1, which then phosphorylates and inactivates components of the apoptotic machinery. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]

Catalog Number: (77438-896)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: E(rns), E1 and E2 are responsible of cell attachment and subsequent fusion of viral and cellular membrane. P7 forms a leader sequence to properly orient NS2 in the membrane.
Uncleaved NS2-3 is required for production of infectious virus. NS2 protease seems to play a vital role in viral RNA replication control and in the pathogenicity of the virus. NS3 displays three enzymatic activities: serine protease, NTPase and RNA helicase. NS4A is a cofactor for the NS3 protease activity. RNA-directed RNA polymerase NS5 replicates the viral (+) and (-) genome.
