Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: SIP1 is one of the proteins found in the SMN complex, which consists of the survival of motor neuron (SMN) protein and several gemin proteins. The SMN complex is localized to a subnuclear compartment called gems (gemini of coiled bodies) and is required for assembly of spliceosomal snRNPs and for pre-mRNA splicing. SIP1 interacts directly with the SMN and it is required for formation of the SMN complex. A knockout mouse targeting the mouse homolog of this gene exhibited disrupted snRNP assembly and motor neuron degeneration. However, knockdown of the SIP1 mRNA in motor neurons showed normal motor axons while that of SMN mRNA did show abnormal motor axon outgrowth, indicating that SIP1 may have additional roles outside of the SMN complex.

DDX6/DHH1 subfamily. P54 is abundantly expressed in most tissues. In the process of mRNA degradation, P54 may play a role in mRNA decapping. P54 is involved in the replication of hepatitis C virus genomes in hepatocytes and in tumourigenesis of hepatocellular carcinomas.

Description: This gene encodes 54-kD nuclear protein that contains an arginine/serine-rich region similar to segments found in pre-mRNA splicing factors. Although the function of this protein is not yet known, structure and immunolocalization data suggest that it may play a role in pre-mRNA processing. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different proteins. In addition, a pseudogene of this gene has been found on chromosome 12.

Supplier: Bioss
Description: Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is a component of the multi-subunit protein complex EIF4F. This complex facilitates the recruitment of mRNA to the ribosome, which is a rate-limiting step during the initiation phase of protein synthesis. The recognition of the mRNA cap and the ATP-dependent unwinding of 5'-terminal secondary structure is catalyzed by factors in this complex. The subunit encoded by this gene is a large scaffolding protein that contains binding sites for other members of the EIF4F complex. A domain at its N-terminus can also interact with the poly(A)-binding protein, which may mediate the circularization of mRNA during translation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, some of which are derived from alternative promoter usage. [provided by RefSeq].

Description: SRRM1, also named as SRM160 and POP101, contains one PWI domain and belongs to the splicing factor SR family. As part of pre- and post-splicing multiprotein mRNP complexes, SRRM1 is involved in numerous pre-mRNA processing events. It promotes constitutive and exonic splicing enhancer (ESE)-dependent splicing activation by bridging together sequence-specific (SR family proteins, SFRS4, SFRS5 and TRA2B/SFRS10) and basal snRNP (SNRP70 and SNRPA1) factors of the spliceosome. SRRM1 stimulates mRNA 3'-end cleavage independently of the formation of an exon junction complex. It binds both pre-mRNA and spliced mRNA 20-25 nt upstream of exon-exon junctions. SRRM1 binds RNA and DNA with low sequence specificity and has similar preference for either double- or single-stranded nucleic acid substrates. SRRM1, a protein of high molecular weight(120-160kd), has a heavy glycosylation level and is normally highly phosphorylated. This antibody is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against residues near the N terminus of human SRRM1.

Supplier: Prosci
Description: GRTP1 Antibody: Growth hormone regulated TBC protein 1 (GRTP1) was identified through microarray analysis as a gene whose expression is regulated by growth hormone (GH). It contains the TBC signature motif of GTPase activator proteins of Rab-like small GTPases. GRTP1 mRNA is expressed at highest levels in testes, and is also present in kidney, lung, liver, and intestine. Administration of GH to mice resulted in an increase in GRTP1 mRNA in testes, but a decrease of GRTP1 mRNA in kidney and liver. GRTP1 was identified as an HIV dependency factor (HDF), suggesting that GRTP1 may be an important drug target in HIV treatment. At least three isoforms of GRTP1 are known to exist; this antibody should recognize all isoforms.

Description: HNRNPUL1, also named as E1BAP5, HNRPUL1 and E1B-AP5, acts as a basic transcriptional regulator. It represses basic transcription driven by several virus and cellular promoters. HNRNPUL1 plays also a role in mRNA processing and transport. It is a cellular protein that interacts with the adenovirus protein E1B-55 and implicated in mRNA export. HNRNPUL1 is an hnRNP-like protein that likely mediates the interaction of NXF1 with mRNAs.. It may modulate PAN expression in complex with KSHV ORF57. HNRNPUL1 specifically bound to the Rae1–Nup98 complex independently of M protein, and this interaction was found to be RNA dependent, as it was greatly diminished in the presence of RNase. HNRNPUL1 has 5 isoforms with calculated MW 84-95kd and 42kd(isoform 5). This antibody can recognize isoform 1-4 .

Description: RelevanceHAX1 associates with HS1, binding to its N-terminal region. It is also known to associate with PKD2 (involved in polycystic kidney disease) and with cortactin/EMS1. HAX1 is also reported to bind to hairpin structures in vimentin and DNA polymerase beta mRNAs, so may play a role in mRNA stability and transport. It may also function in promoting cell survival. Defects in HAX1 are the cause of autosomal recessive severe congenital neutropenia 3 (SCN3) also called Kostmann disease.

Description: OCC1 was initially identified as a novel human cDNA overexpressed in a colon carcinoma cell line. Elevated levels of OCC1 mRNA were observed in three of eight colon carcinomas, suggesting that OCC1 may be a hallmark of only a subset of colon carcinomas. It is highly expressed in skeletal muscle, kidney, placenta, and pancreas tissues, with low to no expression in heart, brain, lung and liver tissues. At least two different OCC1 mRNA species are known to exist.

Supplier: Bioss
Description: This gene encodes one member of a family of translation repressor proteins. The protein directly interacts with eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E), which is a limiting component of the multisubunit complex that recruits 40S ribosomal subunits to the 5' end of mRNAs. Interaction of this protein with eIF4E inhibits complex assembly and represses translation. This protein is phosphorylated in response to various signals including UV irradiation and insulin signaling, resulting in its dissociation from eIF4E and activation of mRNA translation.
