Description: Growth hormone regulated TBC protein 1 (GRTP1) was identified through microarray analysis as a gene whose expression is regulated by growth hormone (GH). It contains the TBC signature motif of GTPase activator proteins of Rab-like small GTPases. GRTP1 mRNA is expressed at highest levels in testes, and is also present in kidney, lung, liver, and intestine. Administration of GH to mice resulted in an increase in GRTP1 mRNA in testes, but a decrease of GRTP1 mRNA in kidney and liver. GRTP1 was identified as an HIV dependency factor (HDF), suggesting that GRTP1 may be an important drug target in HIV treatment. At least three isoforms of GRTP1 are known to exist; this antibody should recognize all isoforms.

Description: HNRNPF, also named as Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein F,is a 415 amino acid portein, which contains 3 RRM (RNA recognition motif) domains. HNRNPF is expressed ubiquitously in various tissues and localizes in the nucleus. HNRNPF is a component of the heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) complexes which provide the substrate for the processing events that pre-mRNAs undergo before becoming functional, translatable mRNAs in the cytoplasm. HNRNPF plays a role in the regulation of alternative splicing events.

Description: Mediates pre-mRNA alternative splicing regulation. Binds to splice sites in pre-mRNA and regulates splice site selection. Binds and stabilizes cytoplasmic mRNA. Contributes to the regulation of translation by modulating the interaction between the mRNA and eukaryotic initiation factors (By similarity). Regulates the transcription of numerous genes. Its transcriptional activity on the multidrug resistance gene MDR1 is enhanced in presence of the APEX1 acetylated form at 'Lys-6' and 'Lys-7'. Binds to promoters that contain a Y-box (5'-CTGATTGGCCAA-3'), such as MDR1 and HLA class II genes. Promotes separation of DNA strands that contain mismatches or are modified by cisplatin. Has endonucleolytic activity and can introduce nicks or breaks into double-stranded DNA (in vitro). May play a role in DNA repair. Component of the CRD-mediated complex that promotes MYC mRNA stability. Binds preferentially to the 5'-[CU]CUGCG-3' motif in vitro. The secreted form acts as an extracellular mitogen and stimulates cell migration and proliferation.

Description: FYTTD1 is a 318 amino acid protein belonging to the UIF family. FYTTD1 localizes to nucleus and is required for mRNA export from nucleus to cytoplasm. Functioning as an adaptor, FYTTD1 utilizes the BAT1/DDX39-TAP pathway, which is essential for efficient mRNA export and nuclear pore delivery. FYTTD1 interacts with SSRP1, a protein that is necessary for its recruitment of mRNAs, in addition to a mutually exclusive interaction with BAT1/DDX39 and TAP. FYTTD1 exists as four alternatively spliced isoforms and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 3q29.

Description: DNA- and RNA-binding protein, involved in several nuclear processes such as pre-mRNA splicing, apoptosis and transcription regulation. In association with FUBP1 regulates MYC transcription at the P2 promoter through the core-TFIIH basal transcription factor. Acts as a transcriptional repressor through the core-TFIIH basal transcription factor. Represses FUBP1-induced transcriptional activation but not basal transcription. Decreases ERCC3 helicase activity. Does not repress TFIIH-mediated transcription in xeroderma pigmentosum complementation group B (XPB) cells. Is also involved in pre-mRNA splicing. Promotes splicing of an intron with weak 3'-splice site and pyrimidine tract in a cooperative manner with U2AF2. Involved in apoptosis induction when overexpressed in HeLa cells. Isoform 6 failed to repress MYC transcription and inhibited FIR-induced apoptosis in colorectal cancer. Isoform 6 may contribute to tumor progression by enabling increased MYC expression and greater resistance to apoptosis in tumors than in normal cells. Modulates alternative splicing of several mRNAs. Binds to relaxed DNA of active promoter regions. Binds to the pyrimidine tract and 3'-splice site regions of pre-mRNA; binding is enhanced in presence of U2AF2. Binds to Y5 RNA in association with TROVE2. Binds to poly(U) RNA.

Description: eIF4B is required for the binding of mRNA to ribosomes. It functions in close association with eIF4F and eIF4A. It binds near the 5'-terminal cap of mRNA in the presence of eIF4F and ATP. It promotes the ATPase activity and the ATP-dependent RNA unwinding activity of both eIF4A and eIF4F (referenced from swissprot).

Description: EIF5AL1is a mRNA-binding protein involved in translation elongation. Has an important function at the level of mRNA turnover, probably acting downstream of decapping. Involved in actin dynamics and cell cycle progression, mRNA decay and probably in a pathway involved in stress response and maintenance of cell wall integrity. Functions as a regulator of apoptosis. Mediates effects of polyamines on neuronal process extension and survival. May play an important role in brain development and function, and in skeletal muscle stem cell differentiation (By similarity).
