Description: OCC-1 (Overexpressed in colon carcinoma-1) was initially identified as a novel human cDNA overexpressed in a colon carcinoma cell line. Elevated levels of OCC-1 mRNA were observed in three of eight colon carcinomas, suggesting that OCC-1 may be a hallmark of only a subset of colon carcinomas. It is highly expressed in skeletal muscle, kidney, placenta, and pancreas tissues, with low to no expression in heart, brain, lung and liver tissues. At least two different OCC-1 mRNA species are known to exist.

Description: SLC29A1 is a member of the equilibrative nucleoside transporter family which plays a key role in nucleoside and nucleobase uptake for salvage pathways of nucleotide synthesis (1,2). SLC29A1 is a transmembrane glycoprotein that localizes to the plasma and mitochondrial membranes and mediates the cellular uptake of nucleosides from the surrounding medium (3). As a nucleoside transporter, SLC29A1 plays an important role in the uptake of nucleoside-based anti-cancer drugs; polymorphisms of point mutations in the gene encoding this protein may affect the efficacy of these drugs (4).

Description: Isotype matched controls are useful in flow cytometry to determine a gross estimate of non-specific binding that may be observed with a specific antibody of interest. In general, an isotype control should be of the same species and isotype as the antibody of interest, used at the same concentration, and conjugated to the same fluorophore. This reagent is an IgG1 isotype mouse monoclonal antibody (Clone # MOPC-21), conjugated to FITC. It is intended for use as an isotype control antibody for flow cytometry.

Description: The MY31 antibody reacts with human CD56, also known as the neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM), a glycoprotein which is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The 140 kDa isoform of CD56 is expressed on human NK cells and NK-T cells, with increased expression levels on activated NK lymphocytes. The CD56 antigen is also expressed by neurons and is reported to play a role in nervous system development and neural cell-to-cell adhesion.

Description: The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) aminopeptidase 2 (ERAP2), a member of the peptidase M1 family, like the related protein ERAP1, plays a central role in peptide trimming, a step required for the generation of most HLA class I-binding peptides (1,2). Like ERAP1, ERAP2 is localized to the lumen of the ER and is thought to associate with ERAP1 as a heterodimer (1). Both ERAP1 and ERAP2 have been linked to several human diseases ranging from infections to autoimmunity and cancer, and may play a role in the innate immune response (reviewed in 3).

Description: The Hox proteins play a role in patterns of embryonic development and cellular differentiation by regulating downstream target genes. TLX1, also called homeobox11 (HOX11), as it is located outside of the four mammalian Hox clusters, is a DNA-binding nuclear transcription factor. TLX1 encodes a homeobox-domain containing protein and is containing a glycine and proline-rich amino terminus. TLX1 is required for maintenance of the developing spleen and cell survival. TLX1 is highly expressed in T-cell leukemia and lymphoid neoplasias as a result of translocation. TLX1-deficient mice have no spleen.

Description: CHD proteins belong to a superfamily of proteins of ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling enzymes that have a unique combination of functional domains, including two N-terminal chromodomains, a SNF2-like ATPase/helicase domain and a DNA-binding domain. These proteins are thought to play a role in early embryonic development by affecting chromatin structure and gene expression. Mutations in one member of this family, CHD7, result in CHARGE syndrome. It colocalizes with embryonic stem (ES) cell master regulators OCT4/POU5F1, SOX2, and NANOG and is thought to modulate ES-specific gene transcription. Together with SOX2, CHD7 has been suggested to also regulate several human disease genes.

Description: ImmunoReagents’ Biotinylated antibody conjugates are widely used due to their ability to enhance antibody signal in most immunoassays. Biotinylated secondary antibodies are used in most immunoassay formats (i.e., ELISA, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), and Western blotting). While Biotinylated antibodies by themselves do not produce a signal that can be visualized, biotin has a high affinity and specificity to Streptavidin/Avidin. Using ImmunoReagents’ streptavidin conjugates with biotinylated antibodies results in signal amplification.

Description: KLRA2 (also known as Ly49B) is a member of the LY49 family of receptors in Natural Killer (NK) cells that bind to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class 1. These proteins are classified as either activating or inhibitory receptors based on whether they possess an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif (ITIM) in their cytoplasmic region (for inhibitory receptors), or an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM) that transmits activating signals resulting in phosphorylation of several substrates. KLRA2 is thought to be an inhibitory receptor and associates with the protein tyrosine phosphatases SHP1, SHP2, and SHIP in transfected cells. This antibody is predicted to not cross-react with other LY49 receptors.
