Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: Rockland produces highly active antibodies and conjugates to collagens. Collagens are highly conserved throughout evolution and are characterized by an uninterrupted ''Glycine-X-Y'' triplet repeat that is a necessary part of the triple helical structure. For these reasons, it is often extremely difficult to generate antibodies with specificities to collagens. The development of ‘type’ specific antibodies is dependent on NON-DENATURED three-dimensional epitopes. Rockland extensively purifies collagens for immunization from human and bovine placenta and cartilage by limited pepsin digestion and selective salt precipitation. This preparation results in a native conformation of the protein. Antibodies are isolated from rabbit antiserum and are extensively cross-adsorbed by immunoaffinity purification to produce 'type' specific antibodies. Greatly diminished reactivity and selectivity of these antibodies will result if denaturing and reducing conditions are used for SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting. Collagen Type I is a protein that strengthens and supports many tissues in the body, including cartilage, bone, tendon, skin and the white part of the eye (sclera). Collagen Type I triple helix comprises of two alpha1 chains and one alpha2 chain. COL1A1/A2 could be useful for detecting melanoma, lung, liver, glioma, skin, stomach, and other cancers. Mutations in the gene may be related to caffey disease, osteogenesis, and ehlers-danlos syndrome. Anti-Collagen Type I Antibody is ideal for investigators involved in extracellular matrix protein, osteoporosis research, Cell Biology, Signal Transduction, and Stem Cell research.

Supplier: Bioss
Description: GSS (Glutathione synthetase) is a 474 amino acid protein encoded by the gene located at human chromosome 20q11.2. GSS consists of three loops projecting from an antiparallel ∫-sheet, a parallel ∫-sheet and a lid of anti-parallel sheets, which provide access to the ATP-binding site. Although Southern blot and gene analysis suggest that GSS may be the only member of a unique family, the crystal structure indicates that GSS belongs to the ATP-GRASP superfamily. GSS is expressed in hemocytes and nucleated cells, including the brain. GSS occurs as a homodimer. There are two steps in the production of Glutathione, begining with GSS (Glutathione synthetase) is a 474 amino acid protein encoded by the gene located at human chromosome 20q11.2. GSS is expressed in hemocytes and nucleated cells, including the brain. GSS occurs as a homodimer. There are two steps in the production of Glutathione, begining with ©-GCS and ending with GSS. In an ATP-dependent reaction, GSS produces Glutathione from ©-glutamylcysteine and glycine precursors. Partial hepatectomy, diethyl maleate, buthionine sulfoximine, tert-butylhaydroquinone and thioacetamide increase the ex-pression of GSS, which causes an increase in Glutathione levels. An inherited autosomal recessive disorder, 5-oxoprolinuria (pyroglutamic aciduria), is caused by GSS deficiencies, which leads to central nervous system damage, hemolytic anemia, metabolic acidosis and urinary excretion of 5-oxoproline. A missense mutation in the gene encoding GSS leads to a GSS deficiency restricted to erythrocytes, which causes only hemolytic anemia.-GCS and ending with GSS.

Description: Isoacyl dipeptides have been developed as building blocks for preventing aggregation of the growing peptide chains during Fmoc-SPPS. As the isopeptide structure is not affected by the final acidolytic cleavage the solubility of the crude product is improved facilitating the subsequent purification. The depsipeptide will rearrange yielding the desired product in slightly basic solution.
