Catalog Number: (89364-964)
Supplier: Genetex
Description: A novel, nonhemolytic antimicrobial peptide (human beta-defensin-3, hBD-3) was isolated from human lesional psoriatic scales and cloned from keratinocytes. hBD-3 demonstrated a salt-insensitive broad spectrum of potent antimicrobial activity against many potentially pathogenic microbes including multiresistant S. aureus and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium. Keratinocytes and airway epithelial cells are cellular sources of hBD-3. Tumor necrosis factor alpha and contact with bacteria were found to induce hBD-3 mRNA expression. hBD-3 therefore might be important in the innate epithelial defense of infections by various microorganisms seen in skin and lung, such as cystic fibrosis.

Supplier: Biotium
Description: A highly selective actin filament stain for fixed and permeabilized cells. Labeled phalloidins have similar affinity for both large and small filaments.

Catalog Number: (102646-852)
Supplier: Jackson Immunoresearch Lab
Description: Whole IgG antibodies are isolated as intact molecules from antisera by immunoaffinity chromatography. They have an Fc portion and two antigen binding Fab portions joined together by disulfide bonds and therefore they are divalent. The average molecular weight is reported to be about 160 kDa. The whole IgG form of antibodies is suitable for the majority of immunodetection procedures and is the most cost effective. Based on immunoelectrophoresis and/or ELISA, the antibody reacts with the F(ab')2 /Fab portion of mouse IgG. It also reacts with the light chains of other mouse immunoglobulins. No antibody was detected against the Fc portion of mouse IgG or against non-immunoglobulin serum proteins. The antibody may cross-react with immunogloublins from other species.

Description: Ataxin-1 is a member of the ATXN1 protein family and contains a single AXH domain. It is a neurodegenerative disorder protein thought to have a role in the metabolism of RNA as it has been shown to localize to the RNA and transcription dependent inclusions within the nucleus. A mutation of Ataxin-1 is the cause of spinocerebellar ataxia type-1 (SCA1), a progressive, neurodegenerative disease that is autosomal dominant and primarily affects the Purjinke cells found in brain stem neuronal populations and the cerebellum. Expression of Ataxin-1 is almost ubiquitous, except in the brain where it is isolated to populations of neurons.

Catalog Number: (103265-448)
Supplier: Southern Biotechnology
Description: CD158e1 is a 70 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein and a killer cell immunoglobulin (Ig)-like receptor (KIR) that is expressed on a subset of natural killer cells and T cells. The monoclonal antibody DX9 is expressed on a subset of CD3-, CD56+ NK cells isolated from peripheral blood at varying levels (<0.1% to 61%) among individuals but not on thymocytes, B lymphocytes, granulocytes, or monocytes. Interactions with CD158e1 and certain MHC HLA-B antigens on a target cell inhibits cytotoxicity, possibly preventing target cell lysis and death. KIR and MHC class I interactions may regulate NK and T cell response to antigen stimulation.

Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Chloramphenicol is a synthetic antibiotic, which was first isolated from strains of Streptomyces venezuelae

The whole IgG form of antibodies is suitable for the majority of immunodetection procedures and is the most cost effective. Based on immunoelectrophoresis and/or ELISA, the antibody reacts with the heavy chain of rat IgM but not with rat IgG or the light chains of rat immunoglobulins. No antibody was detected against non-immunoglobulin serum proteins. The antibody has been tested by ELISA and/or solid-phase adsorbed to ensure minimal cross-reaction with human serum proteins, but it may cross-react with IgM from other species.
