Description: Aldh3A2 is a member of the aldehyde dehydrogenase superfamily, a group of NAD(P)(+)-dependent enzymes that catalyze the oxidation of a wide spectrum of aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes. Aldehyde dehydrogenase enzymes are thought to play a major role in the detoxification of aldehydes generated by alcohol metabolism and lipid peroxidation. Aldh3A2 catalyzes the oxidation of long-chain aliphatic aldehydes to fatty acids. Mutations in the Aldh3A2 gene cause Sjogren-Larrson syndrome, an inherited neurocutaneous disorder. Patients with this disorder display ichthyosis, mental retardation and spastic diplegia. The pathogenesis of the cutaneous and neurological symptoms is thought to result from abnormal lipid accumulation in the membranes of skin and brain, the formation of aldehyde Schiff base adducts with amine-containing lipids or proteins, or defective eicosanoid metabolism.

Supplier: Bioss
Description: ACADM protein is a medium chain specific (C4 to C12 straight chain) acyl Coenzyme A dehydrogenase. The enzyme catalyzes the initial step of the mitochondrial fatty acid beta oxidation pathway. ACADM expression is induced during periods of fasting, when reliance on fatty acids for energy is increased. Clinical phenotypes are associated with ACADM hereditary deficiency.

Catalog Number: (10369-242)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: Produces nitric oxide (NO) which is implicated in vascular smooth muscle relaxation through a cGMP-mediated signal transduction pathway. NO mediates vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-induced angiogenesis in coronary vessels and promotes blood clotting through the activation of platelets. Isoform eNOS13C: Lacks eNOS activity, dominant-negative form that may down-regulate eNOS activity by forming heterodimers with isoform 1.

Supplier: Electron Microscopy Sciences
Description: EMS reagent grade water is typically prepared at 18 megohm/cm specific resistance using a reverse osmosis, mixed deionization, activated filtration and final filtration at 0.2 microns.
Supplier: BD
Description: Sterile syringe/needle combinations have Slip tip or BD Luer-Lok™ tip.
Supplier: Safety & Industrial Supplies
Description: The TorquePlus™ internal design minimizes fastener rounding, helps to extend fastener life, and allows the user to more easily turn worn, rounded or rusted fasteners

Description: PRDX6 is a member of the thiol-specific antioxidant protein family. This protein is a bifunctional enzyme with two distinct active sites. It is involved in redox regulation of the cell; it can reduce H (2)O (2) and short chain organic, fatty acid, and phospholipid hydroperoxides. It may play a role in the regulation of phospholipid turnover as well as in protection against oxidative injury. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the thiol-specific antioxidant protein family. Supplier: HACH CO MS
Description: Oxidation-reduction indicator for the analysis of BOD, total chlorine, chromium, cyanide, dissolved oxygen and sulfite.

Catalog Number: (75784-052)
Supplier: Biotium
Description: The amine reactive succinimidyl ester of MB (methylene blue) can be conjugated to peptides, proteins, drugs, polymeric materials and biomolecules with primary amine groups. The conjugate will have a blue color and be able to complex with nucleic acids. Methylene blue is a well known redox dye which can be reversibly reduced to its colorless leuco form. Upon oxidation, the blue color of the dye is recovered.

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: SESTRIN2, also known as Hi95, is a member of the sestrin family of PA26-related proteins and is induced following DNA damage or oxidative stress (1). SESTRIN2 and the related protein SESTRIN1 interact with the NRF2 suppressor KEAP1, the autophagy substrate p62 and the ubiquitin ligase RBX1 to protect cells against oxidative stress by activating NRF2 and promoting the p62-dependent autophagic degradation of KEAP1 (2). SESTRIN2 also negatively regulates TOR signaling by activating AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) and TSC2 phosphorylation (3), thereby protecting cells against energetic stress-induced death (4).

Description: Signaling adapter that couples activated growth factor receptors to signaling pathways. Participates in a signaling cascade initiated by activated KIT and KITLG/SCF. Isoform p46Shc and isoform p52Shc, once phosphorylated, couple activated receptor tyrosine kinases to Ras via the recruitment of the GRB2/SOS complex and are implicated in the cytoplasmic propagation of mitogenic signals. Isoform p46Shc and isoform p52Shc may thus function as initiators of the Ras signaling cascade in various non-neuronal systems. Isoform p66Shc does not mediate Ras activation, but is involved in signal transduction pathways that regulate the cellular response to oxidative stress and life span. Isoform p66Shc acts as a downstream target of the tumor suppressor p53 and is indispensable for the ability of stress-activated p53 to induce elevation of intracellular oxidants, cytochrome c release and apoptosis. The expression of isoform p66Shc has been correlated with life span (By similarity). Participates in signaling downstream of the angiopoietin receptor TEK/TIE2, and plays a role in the regulation of endothelial cell migration and sprouting angiogenesis.
