Description: TRITC (Tetramethylrhodamine isothiocyanate) is a popular rhodamine derivative pink in color but emits a red-orange color upon Emission at 580nm. TRITC is frequently paired with FITC in double labeling experiments and conjugated antibodies are often used in immunofluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, FLISA (fluorescent ELISA) and high throughput screening assays. These conjugates are best excited with the 532 nm spectral line of the He-Ne laser and are also recommended as a second color detection reagent in in situ hybridization applications. (Excitation/Emission = 555nm / 580nm Emission Color = Orange to Red (Similar Dyes: Alexa Fluor 555, Cy3, DyLight 550)

Description: Neuronal PAS domain protein 3 (NPAS3) is a brain-enriched basic helix-loop-helix PAS domain transcription factor and is broadly expressed in the developing neuroepithelium and has recently found to be disrupted by genetic translocation in a family affected with schizophrenia. It was recently shown to be involved in the regulation of FGF signaling in the dentate gyrus by controlling the expression of the FGF receptor subtype 1 and in turn neurogenesis emanating from this region. NPAS3-null mice were growth-retarded and displayed brain defects that included reduced size of the anterior hippocampus, hypoplasia of the corpus callosum, and enlargement of the ventricles, as well as several behavioral abnormalities. Furthermore, these NPAS3-null mice also exhibited disruptions in several neurosignaling pathways involving glutamate, dopamine, and serotonin. These results demonstrate the essential role played by NPAS3 during structural and functional brain development. At least three isoforms of NPAS3 are known to exist.

Description: FOXA1 is one of three members of the FOXA family, a subset of the forkhead family of transcription factors which play vital roles in development. It has also been implicated in the development of a number of other organs including the androgen and estrogen regulated tissues of the breast and prostate. FOXA1 modulates the transcriptional activity of nuclear hormone receptors and regulates apoptosis by inhibiting the expression of BCL-2. It is an essential protein for the transcriptional activity of both androgen receptor (AR) and estrogen receptor-a (ER). FOXA1 plays a pivotal role from early stage cancer through to drug resistant and metastatic disease. FOXA1 is not only an attractive therapeutic target but could potentially function as a novel biomarker.

Description: The 16-10A1 antibody reacts with mouse CD80, also known as B7-1, a 55 kDa type I transmembrane protein ligand for CD152 (CTLA-4) and for CD28, a co-stimulatory receptor for the T cell receptor (TCR). CD28 also binds a second B7 ligand known as CD86 (B7-2). Both CD80 and CD86 are expressed on activated B cells and antigen-presenting cells. These ligands trigger CD28 signaling in concert with TCR activation to drive T cell proliferation, induce high-level expression of IL-2, impart resistance to apoptosis, and enhance T cell cytotoxicity. The interaction / co-stimulatory signaling between the B7 ligands and CD28 or CTLA-4 provides crucial communication between T cells and B cells or APCs to coordinate the adaptive immune response.

Description: Aldh3A2 is a member of the aldehyde dehydrogenase superfamily, a group of NAD(P)(+)-dependent enzymes that catalyze the oxidation of a wide spectrum of aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes. Aldehyde dehydrogenase enzymes are thought to play a major role in the detoxification of aldehydes generated by alcohol metabolism and lipid peroxidation. Aldh3A2 catalyzes the oxidation of long-chain aliphatic aldehydes to fatty acids. Mutations in the Aldh3A2 gene cause Sjogren-Larrson syndrome, an inherited neurocutaneous disorder. Patients with this disorder display ichthyosis, mental retardation and spastic diplegia. The pathogenesis of the cutaneous and neurological symptoms is thought to result from abnormal lipid accumulation in the membranes of skin and brain, the formation of aldehyde Schiff base adducts with amine-containing lipids or proteins, or defective eicosanoid metabolism.

Description: Annexin V also know as endonnexin II (ENX2), or placental protein 4 (PP4). Endonexin II is a member of the family of Ca(2+)-dependent phospholipid binding proteins, known as annexins. It bind to the phospholipids that are preferentially located on the cytosolic face of the plasma membrane. It has a relative molecular weight of about 35,000. The gene lies on mouse chromosome 3 in close linkage with the fibroblast growth factor 2 (basic) gene and is syntenic with other genes known to have orthologous counterparts on human chromosome 4q. The PP4 cDNA encoded a protein of 320 amino acid residues. A single mRNA, approximately 1.6 kb long, was found to be expressed in human cell lines and placenta. PP4 is an anticoagulant protein that acts as an indirect inhibitor of the thromboplastin-specific complex, which is involved in the blood coagulation cascade. This antibody is suitable for researchers interested in cell signaling and neuroscience research.
