Description: Apoptosis is related to many diseases and development. Members in the Bcl-2 family are critical regulators of apoptosis by either inhibiting or promoting cell death. Bcl-2 homology 3 (BH3) domain is a potent death domain. BH3-only proteins, including Bad, Bid, Bik, Hrk, Bim, Noxa, and PUMA, form a growing subclass of the Bcl-2 family. A novel BH3-only protein was recently identified in human and mouse and designated Bmf (for Bcl-2-modifing factor). The BH3 domain in Bmf is required both for binding to Bcl-2 proteins and for triggering apoptosis. In healthy cells, Bmf associates with the dynein light chain 2 (DLC2) component of the myosin V motors and is sequestered by the cell's actin cytoskeleton. Disruption of the actin cytoskeleton, either by depolymerization of actin filaments or by detachment of cells from the extracellular matrix, triggers release and activation of Bmf, initiating the downstream apoptotic program. Bmf is constitutively expressed in many tissues.

Catalog Number: (75930-420)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: Neurogenin-2 (NGN2) is a neural-specific basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor that can specify a neuronal fate on ectodermal cells and is expressed in neural progenitor cells within the developing central and peripheral nervous systems. NGN2 is thought to work with Nurr1 to play a role in the differentiation and survival of midbrain dopaminergic neurons. It has also been suggested for use in human embryonic neural progenitors as a graft for spinal cord injuries

Catalog Number: (75929-608)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: The leucine-rich, glioma inactivated gene 1 (LGI1) was first identified as a candidate tumor suppressor gene for glioma and may play a role in other cancers. LGI1 is a member of a family of highly related proteins containing leucine-rich repeats (LRRs) which are highly similar to other transmembrane signaling molecules and receptors. LGI1 serves as a ligand to ADAM22, a metalloprotease localized at the synapse. Mutations in LGI1 account for nearly half of autodominant lateral temporal epilepsy (ADTLE), an epileptic syndrome characterized by focal seizures with predominant auditory symptoms. Two isoforms of LGI1 are known to exist; this LGI1 antibody will recognize only the longer form. Anti-LGI1 is ideal for research in Neuroscience and Cancer.

Catalog Number: (75931-386)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: The protein tyrosine phosphatase PTPN5, also known as Striatal enriched phosphatase (STEP), is involved in the regulation of synaptic plasticity and neuronal cell survival, including MAPKs, Src family kinases and NMDA receptors (1). It is expressed in dopaminoceptive neurons of the central nervous system and multiple forms of PTPN5 show differential enrichment in adult brain regions (2). NMDA-mediated activation of PTPN5 is an important mechanism for regulation of Erk activity in neurons (3). Furthermore, PTPN5 is involved in the regulation of both NMDAR and AMPAR trafficking (4,5). PTPN5 may play a role in Alzheimer's disease (1).

Supplier: Enzo Life Sciences
Description: Rat lipocalin-2 is also called rat NGAL, as it is the ortholog of human neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL). Rat NGAL is a 25-kDa alpha 2-microglobulin-related protein or neu-related lipocalin. It is expressed by neutrophils and various epithelial cells, including cells of the renal proximal tubules. It is involved in physiological processes such as the binding of siderophore iron and tissue growth and regeneration. It is upregulated in a variety of pathological situations including infection, inflammation, ischemia-reperfusion and in certain adenocarcinomas.

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: This Protein A purified antibody has been tested for use in ELISA and by western blot.  Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band approximately 15-20 kDa in size corresponding to SPANX family members by western blotting.

Catalog Number: (76634-342)
Supplier: Diagnostic Biosystems
Description: This antibody reacts specifically with a 32 kDa protein similar to the CD8 molecule. This antibody stains cytotoxic/suppressor T cells and shows staining patterns similar to clustered CD8 monoclonal antibodies.

Catalog Number: (10800-518)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: Antigen binding by the T-cell receptor (TCR) is one of the critical first steps in the immune response, triggering a cascade of signaling pathways that ultimately lead to T-cell activation. Screening a yeast two-hybrid screen of a human T-cell cDNA library with calcineurin, a protein phosphatase involved in multiple signaling pathways including T-cell activation, resulted in the identification of Carabin, a member of the TBC1 domain family of proteins, as a calcineurin-binding protein. Unlike other members of the TBC1 domain protein family which are thought to have a role in regulating cell growth and differentiation, further experiments demonstrated that Carabin is part of a negative regulatory loop for the intracellular TCR signaling pathway as well as an inhibitor of the Ras signaling pathway, suggesting that Carabin may also mediate crosstalk between calcineurin and Ras. Carabin antibody does not recognize TBC1D10A or TBC1D10B. Carabin is known to exist in multiple isoforms.
