Description: The 2H7 antibody reacts with human CD20, expressed by pre-B cells, resting and activated B cells, follicular dendritic cells and a small subset of T cells, but not on plasma cells. CD20 is a 33-37 kDa transmembrane protein which is differentially phosphorylated in resting and active B cells. The CD20 molecule plays a role in regulating B-cell activation.

Description: Apoptosis, or programmed cell death, is related to many diseases, such as cancer. Apoptosis is triggered by a variety of stimuli including members in the TNF family and prevented by the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) proteins. IAP proteins form a conserved gene family that binds to and inhibits cell death proteases. A novel member in the IAP protein family was recently identified and designated Livin and KIAP for kidney IAP. Livin/XIAP contains a single baculoviral IAP repeat (BIR) domain and a RING finger domain and has two isoforms termed Livin-alpha and Livin-beta. Transfection of Livin in cells resulted in protection from apoptosis induced by FADD, BAX, RIP, RIP3 and DR6. Livin has direct interaction with several caspases including caspase-3, -7, and -9. Livin inhibits the activation of caspase-9 induced by Apaf-1, cytochrome c, and dATP. The two isoforms of Livin appear to have different functions and tissue distributions.

Description: Noxa antibody detects f mouse Noxa. Apoptosis is related to many diseases and development. The p53 tumor-suppressor protein induces apoptosis through transcriptional activation of several genes including p53R2, p53AIP1, and PUMA. A new p53 target gene, Noxa, was recently identified, which encodes a protein belonging to the subfamily of BH3-only proapoptic proteins. Noxa and PUMA are both transcriptional targets of p53 and BH3-only proteins. X-ray irradiation increased p53-dependent Noxa mRNA and protein levels. Noxa, when ectopically expressed, interacted with anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 family members, resulting in the activation of caspase-9. Noxa, like PUMA, localized to mitochondria and induces apoptosis in response to p53. Noxa and PUMA may represent direct mediators of p53-induced apoptosis. Increased levels of p53 and its target gene Noxa was found in the impaired tumor development. Anti-Noxa antibodies are ideal for inverstigators invovled in Apoptosis and Cancer research.

Description: Synaptogyrins comprise a family of tyrosine-phosphorylated membrane proteins with two neuronal (SYNGR1 and SYNGR3) and one ubiquitous (SYNGR2) members. SYNGR1 and -3 are synaptic vesicle proteins, residing in some cases on the same synaptic vesicle, and are thought to be involved in the regulation of neurotransmitter release. SYNGR2, by contrast, is absent from synaptic vesicles. The role and localization of a fourth synaptogyrin, SYNGR4, is unclear. SYNGR3 is predominantly expressed in brain and placenta. SYNGR3 is involved in the positive regulation of dopamine transporter activity and facilitates the physical and functional interactions of the transporter with the dopamine vesicular storage system, allowing a more efficient loading of the vesicles with extracellular dopamine after release.

Description: Steroid receptors are a large superfamily of ligand-dependent intracellular proteins that stimulate transcription of specific genes by binding to specific DNA sequences following activation by the appropriate hormone. Estrogen receptor (ER) has been classified into two distinct isoforms, α and β. ERα is known to interact in a ligand dependent and independent manner with several known coactivators including Receptor-Interacting Protein 140 (RIP140/ERAP140), ERAP160, and Steroid Receptor Coactivator-1 (SRC-1) to enhance transcriptional activity of target genes.

Description: Anti-HSF1 Antibody was designed, produced, and validated as part of the Joy Cappel Young Investigator Award (JCYIA). Heat shock factor 1 (HSF1) is a highly conserved transcription factor that coordinates stress-induced transcription and directs versatile physiological processes in eukaryotes. Upon stress, HSF1 is the key transcriptional activator of chaperones, co-chaperones and ubiquitin, and also coordinates the expression of many transcriptional and translational regulators, signaling molecules and mitotic determinants. HSF1 is involved in balancing core cellular processes during stress and enables their rapid re-establishment once conditions suitable for proliferation have been restored. Importantly, HSF1 controls a distinct set of target genes in cell stress, development and cancer progression. The central role of HSF1 in diverse cellular functions is reflected in pathologies, such as neurodegenerative diseases and cancer, where an imbalance in HSF1 activity facilitates disease onset. The ability of cancer cells to harness HSF1 for metastatic progression highlights the plasticity of HSF1 in rewiring transcription and coordinating cellular processes. Anti-HSF1 antibody is thus ideal for investigators involved in cancer research and neurodegenerative diseases.

Description: The 17A2 antibody reacts with the mouse CD3 complex, comprised of CD3 epsilon, CD3 gamma and CD3 delta. These integral membrane protein chains assemble with additional chains of the T cell receptor (TCR), as well as CD3 zeta chain, to form the T cell receptor – CD3 complex. Together with co-receptors CD4 or CD8, the complex serves to recognize antigens bound to MHC molecules on antigen-presenting cells. Such interactions promote T cell receptor signaling (T cell activation) and can result in a number of cellular responses including proliferation, differentiation, production of cytokines or activation-induced cell death. CD3 is differentially expressed during thymocyte-to-T cell development and on all mature T cells.

Description: West Nile Virus (WNV) is a member of the Flaviviridae, a plus-stranded virus family that includes St. Louis encephalitis virus, yellow fever virus, and Dengue virus. WNV was initially isolated in 1937 in the West Nile region of Uganda and has become prevalent in Africa, Asia, and Europe. It has rapidly spread across the United States with cases being observed in every continental state. Virus particles consist of a dense core made up of the core/capsid protein encapsulating the RNA genome surrounded by a membrane envelope embedded with envelope and matrix proteins. However, when the viruses are inside of infected cells, the matrix protein exists in its "pre-M" form as a heterodimer with the envelope proteins. Cleavage of the "pre-M" protein to its mature form occurs during release of the virus; this cleavage leas to the dissociation of the heterodimers. The WNV receptor has recently been identified as alpha v beta 3 integrin.
