Description: The PC61.5 antibody is specific for mouse CD25, a 55 kDa surface protein also known as the Interleukin-2 Receptor alpha chain, or IL-2R alpha. CD25 may bind IL-2 by itself, although with low affinity and without induction of cell signaling. CD25 is also expressed within a high-affinity complex, along with the IL-2R beta chain (CD122) and the common gamma chain (CD132), to form a signaling receptor complex. Expression of CD25 varies during developmental stages of T and B cells, is induced on activated mature T and B cells, and is present on subsets of dendritic cells. CD25 signaling as part of the IL-2 receptor complex triggers T cell activation and proliferation, as well as modulating the differentiation and function of Th17 cells, T regulatory (Treg) cells, and dendritic cells.

Description: The inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) family consists of an evolutionarily conserved group of apoptosis inhibitors containing a conserved 70 aa BIR (baculovirus inhibitor repeat) domain. Human members of the family include c-IAP1, c-IAP2, XIAP, survivin, livin and NAIP. Overexpression of IAP family members, particularly survivin and livin, in cancer cell lines and primary tumors suggests an important role for these proteins in cancer progression. In general, the IAP proteins function through direct interactions to inhibit the activity of several caspases, including caspase-3, caspase-7 and caspase-9. In addition, binding of IAP family members to the mitochondrial protein Smac blocks its interaction with caspase-9, thereby allowing the processing and activation of the caspase.

Description: Signal transducer and activator of transcription 5 (Stat5) belongs to a family of cytoplasmic transcription factors that can be activated (phosphorylated) by a cell surface receptor. Phosphorylation at Tyr694 is obligatory for Stat5 activation. Stat5 has two isoforms, Stat5a and Stat5b. Description: AP2-associated protein kinase 1 (Aak1) is a member of the Ark1/Prk1 subfamily of Ser/Thr protein kinases that are thought to regulate endocytosis by phosphorylating the accessory endocytic components. Aak1 interacts with and phosphorylates the mu2 subunit of the AP-2 complex, which promotes binding of the AP-2 to tyrosine based (Yxxphi) internalization motif-containing receptors and subsequent receptor endocytosis. At least two isoforms of Aak1 are known to exist; the longer isoform contains an extended carboxy-terminus that contains an additional clathrin-binding domain.
