Description: Endothelins are vasoactive peptides that exist in three forms (ET-1, ET-2, and ET-3), and function in the maintenance of vascular tone via two identified seven transmembrane-spanning domain-containing G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR), endothelin A (ETA) and endothelin B (ETB). The human ETA receptor is primarily expressed in vascular smooth muscle cells, including those of the heart (also in myocytes), lung, and brain, and its stimulation generally results in vasoconstriction. Activation of ETA receptors can be stimulated by binding of ET-1 and ET-2, but not ET-3. triggering the release of vasorelaxive factors such as nitric oxide (NO) and prostanoids from endothelial cells. Human ETB receptors are primarily expressed in endothelial cells lining the vessel walls of the lungs, heart, and brain, and in contrast to ETA receptors, stimulation generally results in transient vasodilation. Activation of ETB receptors can be stimulated by binding of all three endothelins, triggering the release of vasorelaxive factors such as nitric oxide (NO) and prostanoids from endothelial cells. Both ETA and ETB receptors signal primarily via coupling to Gq/11 alpha subunits, although Gi/o and Gs coupling are also established mechanisms of endothelin signaling, resulting in stimulation of phospholipases C, A2, and D.

Description: The 50 kDa type III intermediate filament protein glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) is a major structural component of astrocytes. GFAP associates with the calcium binding protein annexin II-p2 and S-100. Association with these proteins together with phosphorylation regulates GFAP polymerization. Astroycytes respond to brain injury by proliferatin (astrogliosis), and one of the first events to occur during astrocyte proiliferation is increased GFAP expression. Interestingly, antibodies to GFAP have been detected in individuals with dementia. Anti-GFAP is ideal for investigators involved in Neuroscience Research, including Alexander Disease, Oligodendroglioma, Cytoskleton Remolding Neurofilaments and PIP3/AKT Signaling.

Description: Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) known as ALK tyrosine kinase receptor or CD246, is a tyrosine kinase receptor. ALK is an important biomarker for diagnosis of non-‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Catalog Number: (89153-770)
Supplier: Enzo Life Sciences
Description: Certain serine/threonine protein kinases, such as ASK1, RIP, DAP, and ZIP kinases, are mediators of apoptosis. Receptor interacting proteins including RIP and RIP2/RICK mediate apoptosis induced by TNF-R1 and Fas, two prototype members in the death receptor family. A member in the RIP kinase family was identified and designated RIP3. RIP3 contains an N-terminal kinase domain but, unlike RIP or RIP2, lacks the C-terminal death or CARD domain. RIP3 binds to RIP and TNF-R1, mediates TNF-R1 induced apoptosis, and attenuates RIP and TNF-R1 induced NF-κB activation. Overexpression of RIP3 induces apoptosis and NF-κB activation. The messenger RNA of RIP3 is expressed in a subset of adult tissues. Meanwhile RIP4 has been identified and initially characterized. These data suggest that RIP4 is involved in NF-κB and JNK signalling and that caspase-dependent processing of RIP4 may negatively regulate NF-κB-dependent pro-survival or pro-inflammatory signals.

Catalog Number: (76262-950)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: Anti-Ezh1 Antibody was designed, produced, and validated as part of the Joy Cappel Young Investigator Award (JCYIA). Anti-EZH1 Antibody detects human EZH1. Polycomb group (PcG) proteins are essential epigenetic regulators in normal tissue homeostasis and are involved in transcriptional repression. The PcG members Ezh2 and Ezh1 are important determinants of embryonic stem cell identity, and the transcript levels of these histone methyltransferases are inversely correlated during development. Recent studies have shown that EZH1 also has histone H3K27 methyltransferase activity and binds to an overlapping subset of genes. EZH1 and EZH2 have different expression patterns. EZH2 is found in actively proliferating cells, whereas EZH1 expression is higher in nonproliferative adult tissues. EZH1 partially compensates for the loss of EZH2, as shown in cells lacking only Ezh2. In mice, EZH1 is a regulator of homeotic gene expression implicated in the assembly of repressive protein complexes in chromatin. Anti-EZH1 Antibody is ideal for investigators studying pathogenesis of hematological malignancies.

Supplier: Enzo Life Sciences
Description: Isotype matched controls are useful in flow cytometry to determine a gross estimate of non-specific binding that may be observed with a specific antibody of interest. In general, an isotype control should be of the same species and isotype as the antibody of interest, used at the same concentration, and conjugated to the same fluorophore. This reagent is an IgG1 isotype mouse monoclonal antibody (Clone # MOPC-21), conjugated to DyLight™-488. It is intended for use as an isotype control antibody for flow cytometry.
