Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: SCUBE3 is a member of a family of secreted glycoproteins that contain N-terminal EGF-like repeats and C-terminal cysteine-rich motifs and CUB domain and is highly expressed in primary osteoblasts and bones, and to a lesser extent in heart (1,2). Other studies have shown that overexpression of SCUBE3 in mice induced cardiac hypertrophy, suggesting that it may also play a role in the regulation of cardiac growth. SCUBE3 has been shown to be an endogenous TGF-beta receptor ligand (3,4) and is thought to promote lung cancer cell mobility and invasiveness. In lung cancer cells, the secreted SCUBE3 protein was cleaved by MMP2 and MMP9, allowing the activation of the TGF-beta receptor, the increase of Smad2/3 transcriptional activity and the upregulation of expression of proteins such as TGF-beta1, VEGF, Snail, and Slug.

Description: The interferon-induced protein with tetratricopeptide repeats 1 (IFIT1) protein is a member of a family of tetratricopeptide repeat-containing proteins whose transcription is upregulated by interferons, virus infection, and molecular patterns such as dsRNA or lipopolysaccharides (1,2). These proteins have been suggested to induce anti-viral cellular activities in response to infection (2). Together with the interferon-induced transmembrane protein 1 (IFITM1), IFIT1 inhibits the replication of the Hepatitis C virus, suggesting that it may be useful in the development of therapeutic treatments (3).

Supplier: Tonbo Biosciences
Description: The 53-6.7 antibody reacts with the 32-34 kDa alpha subunit of mouse CD8, known as CD8a or CD8 alpha. CD8a can form a homodimer (CD8 alpha-alpha), but is more commonly expressed as a heterodimer with a second chain known as CD8b or CD8 beta. CD8 acts as a co-receptor in antigen recognition and subsequent T cell activation that is initiated upon binding of the T cell receptor (TCR) to antigen-bearing MHC Class I molecules. The cytoplasmic domains of CD8 provide binding sites for the tyrosine kinase lck, facilitating intracellular signaling events that lead to T cell activation, development, and cytotoxic effector functions. CD8+ cytotoxic T cells (CTLs) play an important role in inducing cell death of tumor cells, as well as cells infected by virus, bacteria or parasites.

Supplier: Enzo Life Sciences
Description: Fas/APO-1/CD95 is a 36 kDa cell surface type I-membrane glycoprotein that is a member of the Tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNF-R) family, which includes TNF-R1, TNF-R2, CD27, CD30, and CD40. Binding of Fas-ligand (FasL) to Fas or crosslinking of Fas by anti-Fas monoclonal antibodies leads to apoptosis of Fas expressing cells. Apoptosis induced by Fas-Fas ligand interaction is inhibited by a number of cytosolic factors such as the ICE/CED3 family inhibitor CrmA, and the short and long form of FLIP.

Catalog Number: (RL002-0204)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: Produced through a multi-stage process that includes delipidation, salt fractionation, ion-exchange chromatography, gel filtration, and affinity chromatography. No contaminating proteins are observed when assayed at a protein concentration of 20mg/mL against anti-whole serum or anti-fragment specific antisera. All immunoglobulin fragments are prepared from highly purified, whole molecules subject to enzymatic digestion.

Description: Heme Oxygenase-1 (HO-1) also known as Hsp32, is the inducible isoform of heme oxygenase that catalyzes the NADPH, oxygen, and cytochrome P450 reductase dependent oxidation of heme to carbon monoxide, ferrous iron and biliverdin which is rapidly reduced to bilirubin. These products of the HO reaction have important physiological effects: carbon monoxide is a potent vasodilator and has been implicated to be a physiological regulator of cGMP and vascular tone; biliverdin and its product bilirubin are potent antioxidants; "free" iron increases oxidative stress and regulates the expression of many mRNAs (e.g., DCT-1, ferritin and transferring receptor) by affecting the conformation of iron regulatory protein (IRP)-1 and its binding to iron regulatory elements (IREs) in the 5'- or 3'- UTRs of the mRNAs. To date, three identified heme oxygenase isoforms are part of the HO system that catalyze heme into biliverdin and carbon monoxide. These are inducible HO-1 or Hsp32, constitutive HO-2 that is abundant in the brain and testis, and HO-3 which is related to HO-2 but is the product of a different gene. The HO system is the rate-limiting step in heme degradation and HO activity decreases the levels of heme which is a well known potent catalyst of lipid peroxidation and oxygen radical formation.

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: B-raf belongs to the raf/mil family of serine/threonine protein kinases and plays a role in regulating the MAP kinase/ERKs signaling pathway, which affects cell division, differentiation, and secretion. The Ras/Raf/MEK/ERK and Ras/PI3K/PTEN/Akt pathways interact with each other to regulate growth and in some cases tumorigenesis. Mutations in B-raf have been associated with several cancers, including non-Hodgkin lymphoma, colorectal cancer, malignant melanoma, thyroid carcinoma, non-small cell lung carcinoma, and adenocarcinoma of lung, leading to speculation on the possibility of B-raf as a therapeutic target for treating cancers. Mutations in this gene have also been associated with cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome (CFCS), a disease characterized by heart defects, mental retardation and a distinctive facial appearance.
