Description: MOX1, also known as MEOX1, is a member of a subfamily of non-clustered, diverged, antennapedia-like homeobox-containing genes that is first expressed during gastrulation in the early mesoderm and later in presomitic mesoderm, early somites, dermomyotome and sclerotome. Both MOX1 and the related protein MOX2 are required for proper gene expression in all somitic compartments. MOX1 is an upstream regulator of the transcription factors Bapx1, Tbx18, and Uncx and is thus part of a regulatory circuit that functions in the maintenance of rostrocaudal sclerotome polarity and axial skeleton formation.

Description: NOD5, also known as NLRX1, is a member of the NOD (nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain) family, a group of proteins that are involved in innate immune defense. NOD5 localizes to the mitochondrial outer membrane and interacts with the virus-induced signaling adapter protein VISA. Unlike a subset of NOD-like receptors (NLRs) such as NOD1 and NOD2 which trigger pro-inflammatory cascades, and other NLRs that induce the caspase 1 inflammasome in response to immune challenges, NOD5 amplifies NF-kB and JNK pathways by inducing reactive oxygen species production.

Description: The matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are a family of proteins that are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases (1). MMP9 degrades type IV and V collagens (2) and studies suggest that the enzyme is involved in IL-8-induced mobilization of hematopoietic progenitor cells from bone marrow (3) and plays a role in tumor-associated tissue remodeling (4).

Description: SIVA plays an important role in the apoptotic pathway induced by the CD27 antigen, a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TFNR) superfamily. SIVA is a small cysteine-rich protein with a unique N-terminal amphipathic helical region, a death domain homology region (DDHR) and a C-terminal cysteine-rich B-box-like or zinc-finger-like structure. The DDHR domain binds to CD27 and induces apoptosis in T cells through a caspase-dependent mitochondrial pathway. SIVA inhibits BCL2L1 isoform Bcl-xL anti-apoptotic activity and inhibits activation of NFk-B and promotes T-cell receptor-mediated apoptosis. SIVA represents a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of neuronal cell death diseases.

Description: ImmunoReagents’ FITC Conjugates are used in immunofluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, FLISA (fluorescent ELISA) and high throughput screening assays. Fluorescein is typically excited by the 488 nm line of an argon laser, and emission is collected at 518 nm. FITC antibody conjugates are yellow-orange in color but emit a yellow-green color upon Em 518 nm. FITC antibody conjugates are sensitive to light. The typical FITC to antibody ratio (F/P) is >4.0 Excitation/Emission = 494nm / 518nm Emission Color = Green (Similar Dyes: Alexa Fluor 488, Cy2, DyLight ® 488)

Description: Cyclins function as regulators of CDK kinases and exhibit distinct expression and degradation patterns which contribute to the temporal coordination of each mitotic event. The cyclin-T1 protein (CCNT1) belongs to the highly conserved cyclin family, whose members are characterized by a dramatic periodicity in protein abundance through the cell cycle. CCNT1 tightly associates with CDK9 kinase, and was found to be a major subunit of the transcription elongation factor p-TEFb. The kinase complex containing CCNT1 and the elongation factor can interact with, and act as a cofactor of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) Tat protein, and was shown to be both necessary and sufficient for full activation of viral transcription. CCNT1 and its kinase partner were also found to be involved in the phosphorylation and regulation of the carboxy-terminal domain (CTD) of the largest RNA polymerase II subunit.

Description: TRITC (Tetramethylrhodamine isothiocyanate) is a popular rhodamine derivative pink in color but emits a red-orange color upon Emission at 580nm. TRITC is frequently paired with FITC in double labeling experiments and conjugated antibodies are often used in immunofluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, FLISA (fluorescent ELISA) and high throughput screening assays. These conjugates are best excited with the 532 nm spectral line of the He-Ne laser and are also recommended as a second color detection reagent in in situ hybridization applications. (Excitation/Emission = 555nm / 580nm Emission Color = Orange to Red (Similar Dyes: Alexa Fluor 555, Cy3, DyLight 550)

Description: MEK1 antibodies detect the MEK1 isoform.  Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 1, also known as MKK or MEK1, is an integral component of the MAP kinase cascade that regulates cell growth and differentiation. This pathway also plays a key role in synaptic plasticity in the brain.  Activated MEK 1 acts as a dual specificity kinase phosphorylating both a threonine and a tyrosine residue on MAP kinase.   MEK1 and MEK2 are about 80% identical to each other, and nearly identical within the kinase domain.   The MEK1 antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Neuroscience, Cell Signaling and Cancer Research.
