UVP EL Series Ultraviolet Lamps, Analytik Jena
Lights UV Lights, Lamps and Bulbs
The EL Series UV Lamps from Analytik Jena provide models with longwave, shortwave, midrange UV and/or white light in four, six or eight watts intensities. Some models feature multiple UV wavelengths in the same lamp.

  • Lamps are manufactured with a durable, extruded metal housing and scratch-resistant powder paint
  • A selector switch located on the lamp back makes it easy to change from one light source to the other

The duo models house one UV tube and one white light tube -- the advantage of white light or UV illumination in one unit.

Use white light when working with materials in a dimly-lit area. Twin models utilize two tubes of the same wavelength. Both tubes operate at the same time, giving added UV intensity.

For models with multiple UV wavelengths in the same lamp, select the 2UV™ models (two different UV wavelengths) or the 3UV™ model (available only in the 8 watt style, gives three UV wavelengths in one unit). Easily switch among the wavelengths as your application requires. Choosing a model with different wavelengths provides flexibility for a variety of uses.

Ultraviolet lamps are essential multipurpose tools for laboratory applications. Longwave (365 nm - UVA) can be used for bacterial identification, inspection, specimen staining and titration processes, gel electrophoresis, thin layer chromatography, visualization of DNA and RNA and fluorescence of other materials are among the applications. Shortwave (254 nm - UVC) can be used for sterilization/germicidal, DNA/RNA fluorescence and analysis, photochemistry and more.

The eight watt lamps can be used with the C-65 Chromato-Vue® Cabinet. Position one or two lamps on top of the cabinet for UV illumination of samples in a dark environment. Lamps can be removed for use in other applications. Cabinet includes built-in overhead white light. The curtain blocks ambient light. The soft rubber viewport, with adequate space for glasses, provides comfortable, safe viewing of samples.
Eye and face protection is essential for anyone working with UV sources which can cause burning to unprotected eyes and skin. Eyewear blocks wavelengths from 200 to 400 nm. Spectacles are made of impact resistant polycarbonate with top and side shield design. Goggles feature lightweight design and flexible rubber trim. Air vents allow air flow. Faceshield covers the entire face and neck area. Goggles and Faceshield comply with ANSI-Z87.1 1986 specifications for eye and face protection.
