Sodium Thiosulfate, Anhydrous, Reagent, is crystalline compound that is colorless. It is used in gold extraction as a lixiviant, in photographic processing to bind soft metals, so that silver halides dissolve when treated with a thiosulfate solution. It is also used in the medical field as an antidote to cyanide poisoning, as an antifungal agent and as a treatment for ringworm. Its reagent grade means this is the highest quality commercially available for this chemical and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
