Used in agriculture as a high-nitrogen fertilizer. It is one of the main components of ammonium nitrate/fuel oil (ANFO). ANFO is used in coal mining, quarrying, metal mining, and civil construction and also used as an oxidizer in solid rocket propellants.

Caution: Ammonium nitrate is hygroscopic. Store in a tightly closed container in a cool area. It should be separated from acids, alkalies, reducing agents and combustibles.
