Tungsten carbide and high precision cutters are made from carbon steel, with a maximum hardness of 68 HRC. They offer a moderate resistance to corrosion, and are ideal for cutting and bending single or multiple filars, and for lateral or internal cuts.

ESD epoxy-coated cutting tweezers have a poor resisance to corrosion. They are often used as tweezers in medical device manufacturing, and as a cutting tool in the electricity industry.
