Bovine Pituitary Extract (BPE) is made from fresh, flash-frozen pituitary glands from young, healthy New Zealand cattle.
It is used to study normal primary cell types in proliferating cultures, including stem cells. The aqueous BPE contains a full spectrum of mitogens and differentiation factors.
35 to 70 µg/ ml or 1.25 to 2.5 ml per 500 ml of medium for monolayer growth of epithelial cells. Optimal concentration may vary depending on cell type.
Caution: Do not thaw and refreeze.
