You Searched For: Enzymes

Enzymes accelerate, or catalyze, chemical reactions, and they are known to catalyze more than 5,000 biochemical reaction types. Most enzymes are proteins, although a few are catalytic RNA molecules. Choose specific enzymes for cleaving bonds, removing genomic DNA from RNA preparations, for producing fragments of proteins, or for use in ion exchange chromatography. Enzymes are used in the chemical industry and other industrial applications when extremely specific catalysts are required.

Catalog Number: (101228-220)
Supplier: New England Biolabs (NEB)
Description: Klenow Fragment (3´→ 5´ exo-) is an N-terminal truncation of DNA Polymerase I which retains polymerase activity, but has lost the 5´→ 3´ exonuclease activity and has mutations (D355A, E357A) which abolish the 3´→ 5´ exonuclease activity.

Supplier: EMPIRICAL BIOSCIENCE
Description: This enzyme is a uracil N-glycosylase (UNG) obtained from the bacterium Esherichia coli. UNG enzymes specifically hydrolyze the N-glycosidic bond of uracil residues in ss/dsDNA molecules leaving an abasic site in the strand but will not react with RNA. The optimal temperature range for E. coli UNG activity is from 30 to 40 °C. The enzyme is irreversibly inactivated after ten minutes of incubation at temperatures ≥95 °C making it suited for carryover prevention in standard PCR and qPCR applications. It is active in most standard reaction buffers used for derivatives of Taq and Pfu DNA polymerases.

Catalog Number: (76293-152)
Supplier: Cayman Chemical Company
Description: Stimulator of interferon genes (STING) is a component of the innate immune response that binds to cyclic dinucleotides, which are bacterial second messengers, leading to activation of NF-κB and transcription of immunomodulatory genes, including type I interferon (IFN). The H232 variant of STING is found at a 13.7% frequency in the 1000 Genome Project. The SNP variant R232 (Item No. 22816) is the most common variant in the human population, found at a frequency of 57.9%. Various mutations in STING either reduce or increase its activity. Gain-of-function mutations in STING, including R284M (Item No. 23594) and V155M, lead to constitutive activation and enhancement of the type I IFN response. The V155M mutation is associated with a systemic inflammatory condition, including pulmonary fibrosis and autoimmune factors. Mutations that reduce STING activity include K224R (Item No. 23593), which reduces ubiquitination of STING thereby disrupting its localization within the cell, and the double mutation G230A, R293Q (Item No. 23592), which reduces the IFN response. A T596A mutation present in the mouse strain Goldenticket leads to a complete loss of STING protein and lack of a type I IFN response to infection by Listeria.

Catalog Number: (76292-930)
Supplier: Cayman Chemical Company
Description: Cyclic di-nucleotide phosphodiesterase (CdnP, also known as Rv2837c) is a soluble, stand-alone phosphodiesterase in regulating cyclic dinucleotide signaling during intracellular infections of M. tuberculosis{36095}. Studies have found that CdnP is capable of hydrolyzing cyclic di-adenosine monophosphate (c-di-AMP; Item No. 17753) into two AMPs as a strategy to avoid activation of the innate immune response of the host. M. tuberculosis infection leads to cytosolic release of c-di-AMP, which is recognized by stimulator of interferon genes (STING) and subsequently triggers type I interferon response. Other studies have shown that deletion or inhibition of CdnP attenuates the M. tuberculosis virulence both in vitro and in vivo.
